    My first Narwhal out of the 2023 batch. Perfect for a cold rainy day. Cheers all!

    Beautiful song that also pairs well with the rain.

    Pours a clear, dark brown, appears a deep mahogany red in the glass; thick, slow-rising carbonation; dense, sudsy head, khaki hued. Wonderful roasted grains and nuts smell; delicate touch of burnt brown sugar. Well-blended and balanced taste; light cocoa and brown sugar with a dash of cinnamon; sly undercurrent of coffee. Medium-heavy mouthfeel; smooth and delicately velvety; medium-dry quality balancing the feathery residual sugar notes.

    A very nice brown ale infused with coffee and cinnamon notes. Everything comes across balanced yet delivering an alluring complexity to satisfy the palate and soul.

    Uneventful, rather chilly day. Worked on a Lego build for a good part of the day. Having a Jai Alai and relaxing.

    @JackHorzempa @jonphisher

    saw the post on Christmas Eve about Loyal Lager. I’ve been gone a bit. Not sure the EXACT reason for its demise but there is a >5% Pilsner for seasonal summer release coming (saaz, lemon drop for those interested. Under 10 ibu) expected late spring and other variants of Philly Standard as well. (Orange, Fruit punch….etc) that plus the fact that Loyal lager is good but I will say among employees and the tap room thought that Philly standard is more popular also being the other similar option. Also unrelated with the comeback of ESA into rotation I can’t personally complain. It may seem heresy but with things like Prima Pils being around I personally couldn’t complain too hard although completely different profiles. Loyal lager may still be available in the taproom it’s not like recipes ever fully disappear.

    Thanks for the update, I hadn't bought it in a few years but for whatever had the inch for Loyal Lager and went looking only to find the news. Insert Primal Pils with Longliner and I'm with you, which I'm pretty sure is brewed at Yards. It has been one of, if not my most purchased beer, over the past few years.

    I’m liking it a lot too but I don’t think I’ll have much luck finding a whole case. So far only one out of four of my go-to beer stores have even had it in stock this year.
