Get your act together, state of Connecticut. What the fuck? I've been seeing everyone else in the country drinking this shit for relatively cheap and we can't even get the shit within the borders of the state apparently. I want to buy some of this!

New Haven and Waterbury areas have it if you're near there. Happy Hunting!

Enjoying some 2023 tonight. I don't find it to be any worse at all. I move that pallete shift is responsible for any abjection towards the 2023 edition.

I completely got too busy to hunt this down this year. I’ll be out looking now in the Easton MD area.

Bought a sixer this year, figuring it would be the same old solid beer.

    Nope.

After sharing two with the wife, I told her she can have the rest. The coffee is weak, and my brain screams "FLAVORED MALT BEVERAGE" when I take a sip.

I love coffee stouts, and barrel-aged coffee stouts. Not this one, this year.

Wild to me how varied the responses are this year. Definitely isn't the best year in my opinion (the total lack of coffee is definitely part of the reason) but it's not dramatically worse than any other years since it went to Willet from high west, and especially compared to last years that hot the shelves at 9 months in the bottle.

I was happy to pick up a 6 pack at 13.99, even happier to grab one at 11.95 just now, and I'll probably buy one more. Mostly limited by my efforts to drink less alcohol and because this one already tastes very mellow so I don't think it'll age especially well

Found some today, and am just finishing up bottle number one right now.

When I started drinking this bottle it was cold, and the beer was not impressive.

Took my time, and now a half an hour later after pouring it it's finally coming into it's own.

I'd say it's about how I remember it from before (I'm an old guy, so maybe that has something to do with it. Memory can play tricks on us old folk), but still can't hold a candle to the Hi-Westified version of it from the first couple of years.

Maybe I should just let those memories of glorious days gone by, go by.

Whatever the case, even if this version isn't up to par with the classic ones, it's still a pretty decent beer and worth what they're asking for it.

    yup.

Tastes way sweeter this year not sickeningly sweet , but nothing like past releases.

I never bought it for the coffee flavor as it was never a standout .
i always considered this a Rye BA Imperial Stout.. not this year

Reason why i dont like it this year and won't buy more , i dont care how cheap it is as this year is really a YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR situation, they state that it's aged in BOURON and RYE barrels as well.
What the fuck is that about? they never answered me.

Seems like after last years fuck up they just cheaped it down further .

I'll be choosing Speedway or Dark Star .

Willettized really broke my heart this year:slight_frown::cold_sweat:

Should have said, I saw it on Lags beer finder...
    New Bottle Shoppe-New Haven
    Branford Wine and Liquor-Branford
    Save Rite-North Haven

I think this was mentioned in last year's Willettized thread but Lagunitas beer finder is really wonky. Last year I would punch in my town and nothing came up then punch in a town 10 miles away and got results. Still no sign of this in SEPA yet although a couple places in Wilmington, DE are showing up @Braunmeister_1943

I did a side by side of this year and last and definitely did not find this year's to be much different. Not much sweeter. That's just my taste buds.
