Looks like I will be in Tulsa next week...Monday night through Friday... looking to grab some good local beer, hit some local breweries and some good local food...any can't miss local places I need to go before I fly back?
Based only on what I’ve heard and read (because I researched for a trip there which I ended up not taking), American Solera is the best local brewery.
American Solera, Marshall, and Cabin Boys are all next to each other, like literally share a parking lot. So if you hit one you might as well hit all three. Otherwise I thought that Heirloom was probably the best on my visit (outside of American Solera)
Pretty much what's been said above. American Solera and Marshall are on the same block. About a mile from there is Heirloom Rustic. Pretty much the top breweries in Tulsa for my tastes. If you're downtown, Errie Abbey Ales has a good, Belgian based tap list. If you're around Woodland Hills Mall, Pippen's usually has solid beers on tap and bottles for purchase. My top five.
I hit Heirloom Rustic repeatedly as I felt like they had the cleanest stuff in town....also went to American Solera and Nothings Left....both had great stuff as well....the pizza truck outside of Nothings Left is not to be missed.....terrific stuff.....Thanks for the recommendations!
heading to Tulsa....looking for local knowledge about new places and especially places with a good combo of quality beer options and tasty chow
Rosevelts in the Cherry area has a pretty good tap list and food is solid. Smoke right across the street, good food, beer list standard fare. If you are walking breweries a good place to have lunch is Mother Road Market, there is a bar and you can eat at one of the many places there, the hot chicken is legit. Every list has McNellies, great taplist and great food. East Village Bohemian Pizza, great pizza pretty good tap list Elgin Park Good pizza and their house beers are pretty good. Notice a pattern here, none of these are breweries except maybe Elgin if you want to streach it. Prairie was about the only brewery that had legit food. Almost all the breweries will have some type of food/food truck, but none stand out at the moment. Wow and as I am checking the map, seems that Cabin Boys moved into the old Prairie location, if you hit it up, report back here on how the food is. Have fun, one of my favorite beer towns
