Had the best steak I’ve ever had in Omaha at Spencer’s steakhouse as me and friend drove from Boston back to Southern California

I've been trying to start to plan a vacation in early May. If all goes well, I'll be headed to eastern North Carolina, because I've got some friends I haven't seen in way too long there. The last time I was there was March of 2018, and it was colder there than here in central Minnesota, though that changed the day after I left. I'm hoping for some sun and warm weather, and some good beach time. Fingers crossed that I can pull it off. It's not money, but just making sure work is ok without me there. I do close a lot, almost every shift, and there's not a lot of closers besides me.

 

Life is too damn short, and I missed out on too many things in the past. I've been thinking about this a lot more since the funeral for my friend's mom on Wednesday. I just mainly have to make sure there's coverage, and, what I'm planing is not during the huge wine sale at work. A co-worker was asking me why not earlier, like March, because it's so cold here now. I said I want to swim in the ocean, and my friend there said it should be good in April or May.

 

Yes, I am a vintage 1973. I know there's likely fewer days ahead than behind. I just work hard and I am very happy in a lot of ways with my life now. Missing one element, but still looking for that piece of the puzzle.

Well, I do owe work something, and that's my best effort there when there. I know that I give that, and the owner, and CEO of the company, and all higher ups think I am doing so, because they all tell me so. No they aren't blowing smoke up my butt either, but being honest.

 

I work in a locally owned small business. The owner of the company is in my store often, and she tells me how much she appreciates all I do for the company. I have no desire to leave and work for my success as well as the success of the business.
