What Beer Are You Drinking Now? #4101

Got up, looked outside, saw the snow coming down sideways, texted my boss that I’ll be working from home, and opened a beer. Cycle OG Friday 2021 aka Breakthrough Infection.

Going to start the heavy metal covers early. I was amazed at how good this one is. Ozzy himself tweeted on Wednesday that he thought it was the best cover of the song he’s ever heard.

Good day BAs! Thanks @AzfromOz for starting us off, and for reminding us in the northern hemisphere what we're missing - here it's 31F/-1C and cloudy, i.e. a beautiful spring day in NW Pennsylvania.
Today's New Breakfast Beer, from @muchloveforhops3 and BSBIF#1:

My understanding of the series is that each beer has the same malt/hops bill but the malts come from different maltsters. If this is correct, the malt factory used of Life Volume 1 (as opposed to the malster for Life Volume 2) would be my choice for future barleywines.
Final impression and summation: 3.75 (After deducting 0.25 point for undated personal container) Seems very weak in both aroma and flavor. In general, a poor successor to Life Volume 1 IMHO.

Doing an early morning rating, been up for a while.

Sierra Nevada Snowed In


Can Notes: 12 oz can 11/03/23 6:29 am. Winter Warmer Ale, 6.5% ABV. Contains malted barley. Sierra Nevada Brewing Co., Chico, California and Mills River, North Carolina.

Appearance: Multiple pours in pint glass. Chestnut Brown base, creamy dark tan head leaves soapy making throughout. 4.25

Aroma: Very malty, spicy, caramel, toffee. Sweet, looking forward to diving in. 4.25

Taste: Consistent with the aroma, sweet malt and flavors, caramel and toffee the headliners, barley malt as well. All come together well. 4.25

Mouthfeel: Light to medium body, gentle carbonation. Drinks light and easy, more so than the ABV. Sweet but doesn’t cross the cloying line. Caramel lingers joyously on the finish. 4.5

Overall: This is a very enjoyable here, works perfect for breakfast / morning. Going to put waffles in the toaster to pair the rest. 4.25

 

Fuck it I'll join yall with some beer flavored water. All of yalls beers having been looking tasty. I'd be lying if I said I didn't want a real pint tbh.
