Why do people like IPAs?

I think people like IPAs cuz theyre easy to brew for the breweries so thats what they put in your face.
They're cheap, quick and easily accessible.

I think the more appropriate questions is, why doesn't EVERYONE love IPAs?

 

There are good flavors in a lot of them. I for one like the strong taste and smell that most of them have. Sierra Nevada Torpedo is one of my favorites and is widely available so I would suggest checking into that if you ever want to try another IPA. However, I am not into all these hazy IPA’s that we see. Sure I do buy them, but only if they are local brews or on sale. Most of the time the hazy’s end up all tasting very similar, so why pay a premium? It just comes down to personal preference, buy what you want!

What do you drink?

I like most styles. Love old school piney grapefruit earthy IPA. Hazy fruity not so much, but I do try them when I have a chance. I love lager and many would say they have no good flavors. 15 years ago I was mostly an IPA only drinker but I have changed my ways.

Why do some people like hot wings? Why do some people like peaty scotches? Why do some people like strong dark roast coffee?

Sometimes intense flavors are enjoyable. The real question is "why do some people like IPAs at the expense of practically every other beer style?"

 

OP, have you ever found Mosaic hops in an AAL? I prefer tropical fruits and berries to corn, so I will certainly put up with a higher level of bitterness.
