What beer are you drinking now? #4105

Good day BAs! Thanks @Shanex for starting us off and to @AzfromOz - yinz guys make me jealous seeing outside pix that don't involve snow - it brings out my wanderlust!
Today's New Breakfast Beer is the penultimate brew from @muchloveforhops and BSBIF#1:



Final impression and summation: 4.25 Looks like every other impy stout, except for the lacing at 14% ABV. Aroma and flavor both lead with rye whiskey and chocolate/cocoa to the exclusion of other flavors. Not detecting any barrels, oak or otherwise. Wish I had a couple more of these to age a bit. Thanks Doug!

Time for a pointless story. When I was in the army, I was noted for being a rye or scotch drinker when most of my buddies drank bourbon. I drank the good stuff - Old Overholt or Johnny Walker Red for $4/fifth at the class 6 store while my buds were drinking Jim Beam at $4/half gallon. When it was time to DROS, I sent my stuff home and went to the debarkation point to head home. Of course, this was over Xmas so everything was slowed down - the gas chromatographs "broke down" and no one could leave until their urine samples were processed. Long boring story short, I spent 10 more days back at my post with no clean clothes, no place to sleep (my room had been reassigned), and nothing to do. Fortunately my first sergeant cut me a temporary meal card and a couple of my friends let me sleep on their floor. They called me "Old Holdover".
