Prefer to drink alone?

    It’s always been my preference to drink beer alone. I enjoy beer more in a quiet, solitary environment, ideally sitting outside on a nice day with a cooler of ice cold beer.

    So what’s your preference? Drinking alone or drinking socially?

    I had a friend that always said “ I only drink on days that end with a Y and only in parties of one or more”.

    I’m fine either way. Not sure I have a preference. Although I get frustrated drinking a new craft beer I never had before in a party/social situation outside of a bottle share as I don’t fully appreciate the beer. I would either prefer to drink that beer alone or sharing and commenting with 1-2 of my close beer nerd pals. If I’m at a sporting event, party etc just give me an AAL and I’m good.

    Like above. If I’m going to enjoy and sip on a very good, new to me craft beer. I’m going to sit on my couch listening to my best music playlist.

    I also enjoy drinking socially but used to enjoy it more before I turned 35. Generally that means craft or great beers isn’t involved.

    I enjoy drinking at the pub with my friends…and I like drinking alone…maybe I’m ambibeerdexterous? Cheers!

    I prefer to drink with other BeerAdvocates. This virtual bar makes it feel like I am always with good friends. And in-person makes it feel like I am with my family.

    I prefer to drink alone but not an ice cold beer, because I keep the best beers for me:wink:
    When I go out I have to share the beers of people that don't have the same taste as me and in bars, the best beers cost a fortune. Also when you drink with more people you need to drink more to keep the party going.

    Solo drinker. I can go at my own pace, do what I want, read a book, stare at the clouds, write some high-falutin nonsense on BA, and enjoy the company of my favourite person - me!

    Personally, i am good either way. I like to try new beers and breweries which makes it tough in a group setting to do a proper review but recently started recording check-ins on Untappd, primarily for said tastings that we do with my neighborhood tasting group. Have participated in 4 so far this year (which has been unusual) but i still look at BA as being more legit rating wise despite far many less ratings.

    George Thorogood comes to mind here. I don’t mind drinking alone but I have family and friends so I’m very rarely alone. I value alone time.
