Beer lessons learned in 2023

I really like Landmade. Montogemery Co. has insane alcohol distribution laws, but if you go to the right places, and are looking for the right things, you'll find good stuff. Fenwick Wine and Beer in DTSS is good. Wine Source in Baltimore has an amazing selection, but you'll pay for it.

 

After trying 3 out of 4 Germany-made craft Witbiers and finding them honest but still inferior to their Belgian counterparts (and even more expensive!), I say this:

If I want a wheat ale I can either stick to the excellent industrial Hefeweizens or imported Belgian Wits I can get with a bit of search in the supermarket.

 

I'm getting old. Hitting up several breweries on the same day on a vacation is no longer a thing I can do. I can't put them down like I used to.

Also, I don't have to grab every new beer that shows up on the shelves. Most of what we get from Twelve percent all taste the same. I'm pretty sure everything from Fat Orange Cat is the exact same beer with just a different name and label.

 

Surprisingly, Landmade will ship to me in Kentucky. I like their beers. Hope to visit sometime!

1. I drink way to much, I should drink less

2. I spend to much $ on alcohol

3. I'd like to review more beers that I drink

4. Buy more singles instead of blowing $ on full packs

 

I'm sure this has been said, but...I can't drink like I used to. Which is assuredly a good thing.

 

Hazies, NEIPA...have had some good ones but I prefer a West Coast or traditional
