I stopped in at a beer shop during my lunchhour and found that this place was selling 12pks of SN Glissade. Now, I though SN discontinued production of the Glissade in favor of the Rothless Rye IPA. Am I wrong or were these 12 packs they had on hand old as hell?

They are about a year old now, maybe 2?

Don't even need to check the bottling date. Yes, they're old. Early last year was the last time it was released. Might still be good though, especially if they're at a discounted price.

A place around here still has Tumbler on the shelves and I thought that was bad..

This raises another question, will SN decide to release it again as a special release? It seems like a good idea to me.

I hope so. I've trying to try more bocks, and I was looking forward to this release because it's pretty available (unlike seemingly every other bock), but I guess that won't happen.

The Glissade is indeed old. Last year was the last year we made it. Send me the address and I will have it destroyed.
As to your other question, we're not likely to release it again anytime soon. The beer did great in the market the first year of release, but last year had a pretty rough go. We don't currently have a place for it in our lineup and/or seasonal plans. It might one-day see a big bottle limited release, but as of now, there are no plans to resurrect that beer.

    Sorry.

Glissade was a good brew, one that I looked forward to the annual release. Sadly, it didn't sell, but there are so many good brews available, one has to be really top-notch to survive. RIP, Glissade. May there be a big bottle resurrection in the future.

Wouldn't it be nice if there was a sierranevadabill for every brewery on our forum.

I wish that was a fresh 12 pack. SN needs to brew this again. Do you hear me Bill?

It is a win-win, you get to try various solid local(ish) bocks AND you get to see goat races. What more could you ask for? :grinning:

I was not a fan of Glissdale, so I won't miss it. What I do miss is *gulp* the ESB. Any plans for that or is it completely dead.
