Minnesota IPA Appreciation Thread (2024)

In this thread we discuss any and all IPAs from the great state of Minnesota! There are many, and there's plenty to talk about. Feel free to post pics, ratings & reviews and general info. No other beers please. Just IPAs. I'll begin with a new one to me: Luce Line Snowdrift WCIPA 6.8% ABV Brewed with Columbus Cryo, Mosaic, Sultana hops. I've enjoyed each beer I've had from them and the brewery is in fact 2 miles from my home. Fresh!!

Just picked up a 12r today in Golden Valley and uploaded a can pic to the database. At 9%ABV I'd say 6 of em should do!

 

I'm seeing more breweries statewide offering WCIPAs. I love it!

 

This is a very nice Collab from Blackstack/Pinthoust Pizza Amarillo By Morning Strait WCIPA. EZ drinking for 7.8 % ABV. Interestingly bitter and leans sour. Not tart, sour. Mildly complex and I'm digging its lemon, melon, berry and fine balance of light candied malts. Crisp & zesty. It's the mitten that's fittin'. Rate/review comin' up. Cheers!

 

Heyoooo! Jan 1st and here's another nice local drop. Incredible curtain-like sheeting /lacing that morphs to vertical sketchy lines. Really cool...and great tasting. Leans a wee bit malty at first then gets zesty and finishes fairly dry. Nice job. Back Channel Ballooney Bin WCIPA 7% ABV
Let's go Minnesota! Post those local IPAs be they Hazy or West Coast or any of the 8 styles defined on our site.

 

Hopefully more MN Advocates will see this thread. Here's a new dog: Summit Saga Imperial IPA. 9% and really smooth. Wow. Just fantastic.

 

Oh, hello again seekers. Pretty quiet out there MN BAs. Here's another great drop from our good ol' friends at Fair State: Bonk City WC DIPA. Just gorgeous in every way.

Has anyone tried Blackstack Citra Down Under TIPA? It's new and expensive.

 

Urban Growler Midwest IPA. A pretty EZ drinking unit with a bold taste. Good and bitter. I like it! Keep up the good work UG!

 

This beer was canned April 1, 2024 and I bought it April 5th. Two days ago. t's the freshest can of beer I think I've ever bought retail. Hell's yeah!! Modist Green Greens DDH NEIPA 7.3%. It is juicy, medium-light, fruity and fantastic.

 

Not bad. Could be a bit better IMHO but is enjoyable nonetheless.
