New member to this forum. I’m in Southern California. LA area and I love trying new beers. I made it a point to visit every brewery in LA county and Orange County. Almost done with LA. I just came off a five week beer tour of Denver. I’m always looking for the next good beer. I’m looking forward to seeing what everyone has to say about beer.

Welcome aboard! Try poking around in the “Pacific” forum, and check the other regional forums that correspond with your travels.

    https://www.beeradvocate.com/community/forums/pacific.15/

And as you explore the website you will find much more functionality. Specifically under “Places”.

Some features are only available to Society members for a $12/year fee. I think Society membership is worth it just for the added features, however it also makes the advertising go away too.

Thanks so much for the information. The places thing looks like it will come in handy. And I think I will join the society.

I love that you enjoy visiting breweries because it's a hobby of mine too. I hope that you'll take the time to rate each place that you visit, or even go farther and write a review. Or add the place if it's not in the database. (The database collects Breweries, good beer Bars, Eateries with a good beer list, good beer Stores, and Homebrewing supply stores.) And it would also be great if you rate/review whatever beers that you drink at these breweries that you visit, or add ones that aren't in the database. This site is member driven for keeping the database of beers and places up to date, so you can help.

Hang around as much as you'd like. Explore the site to discover all of the features. Consider becoming a Society member for the benefits there (no ads). Enjoy.

Welcome to the site and thanks for joining.
As you have probably already seen there is plenty of beer talk to take in here.

Welcome to Beer Advocate! Southern Cal is home to several of my favorite breweries. Bummed I didn't stop there this Winter, but will likely stop next Winter.

Any favorite breweries you would like to recommend? My favorites in LA County are Firestone Walker, Highland Park and Beachwood (now primarily in Huntington Beach), also love RIIP and Green Cheek just over the border in the OC. Really grateful we get many solid beers from California distributed in Chicago.

    Cheers!

Thanks for the hearty welcome. One brewery that I frequent is Ten Mile in Signal Hill. Their beer is always on point and they also have some good pizza.

Smog City, Scholb and Absolution in Torrance are pretty close to each other and I always enjoy their beer.

Two Coast in Gardena I just visited for the first time and their beer blew me away.

I meant to check out Smog City last trip while staying in Wilmington, but just ran out of time. I did reach nearby Redondo Beach and the wonderful bottle shop there Select Beer Store.

Thank you so much for the other four recommendations (Ten Mile, Scholb, Absolution and Gardena)! I will keep them in my trip planning folder for my next visit, hopefully Winter 2025!

I was able to get around the whole county via public transportation (mainly to avoid drinking and driving after hitting a few spots a day), but will try to focus more on specific areas next trip, with your area and then Huntington Beach and Long Beach.

    Cheers!
