Good morning and have a good week Advocates,
if it's my turn to open this thread, today I'll do it with a nice bottle.
Over the weekend, an old friend came to visit me with whom we see each other more and more rarely due to work commitments and life in general.
What better occasion than to go and fish something from the home cellar?

Brasserie Cantillon (Anderlecht, BEL) - NATH 2022 - Lambic with rhubarb (5.5%)

It's a two-year-old lambic with added rhubarb, which I also had the pleasure of drinking on tap.
Stored at cellar temperature, quickly refreshed in the fridge to cool the dusty bottle a little more.
Freshly uncorked, smoky, scented with red berries, a light earthy/mouldy note.
Poured has a beautiful golden color, just slightly hazy.
Note a continuous effervescence that rises upwards even after several minutes of pouring into the TeKu.
Already on the nose it made the mouth water: the bouquet of red fruits and berries expands (it reminds me above all of red currants) and a delicate aftertaste of Brettanomyces ("mold"/stale/soggy cork) also emerges.
The foam is obviously minimal and remains weak only on the superficial part.
In the mouth, I find this sour/sweet taste almost of berry/berry, but much less intense and more floral.
This taste evolves into a delicate herbaceous taste, with just a hint of earthiness (but not at all comparable to the Zwanze 2020, which - in my opinion - tasted like fresh earth on which to start planting flowers rather than beetroot).
The taste of rhubarb reminds me a lot of forest berry/radish notes even if it retains a greater delicacy in the taste.
The acid note is delicate and almost blends with the sour sensation that rhubarb gives it.
    Imperceptible sophurous note.
Final in which delicate notes of Brettanomyces appear to close a very elegant and pleasant drink.

Personally, I found it to be a great vintage or at least it was uncorked while in excellent shape. I didn't find the classic sharpness that I encounter in some lambics with additions of Cantillon (perhaps left to age a little too long in the cellar), it seemed elegant like a Tri Fonteinen, but these are personal opinions that I didn't include in the review posted on the database. The drink is not overly complex, but it is truly valuable and even if it flows quickly, it leaves a truly qualitative sweet and sour taste on the palate.
In my opinion, as well as with some not too mature cheese, this beer could enhance numerous white fish dishes.
But this thing isn't in our culture anyway and we will continue to uncork a Vermentino or a Chardonnay wine (not that it's wrong, but it's a shame that this option is totally ignored even in private life by people. They miss out on a lot).

Good day and happy new week, all!

Regarding current events we are having a « Grapes of Wrath » moment in France, and elsewhere in Western/Central Europe. Many farmers and their tractors are currently going to the French capital for blockades and be listened to by our politicians. Tough one.

Escaping this mess for now by drinking La Goudale.

    Cheers!

Good day BAs! Thanks @Jack_14 for starting today's thread with an excellent review! And @Shanex, The Grapes of Wrath was an idealized socialist movie - the only things politicians listen to are their owners and the only thing they understand is to be hanging from meathooks. Come the Revolution! Nuke DC! And thus dies my interest in politics.
Today's New Breakfast Beer is another from @snaotheus' ninja hit during BSBIF #1:

Final impression and summation: 4.25 This goes down like water – easy drinking and diabolic. The aroma and flavor are not strong and whatever style whiskey barrels were used are very much subdued – this is a gulping brew that (wisely) should be nursed. Thanks Ryan!
    Rating 4.15, rDev -2.4%

Great 55° day again. Went for a good hike out to the lake. Working on getting my legs back in shape after my hip replacement. Now enjoying a wimpy beer with lunch.

"This easy-drinking IPA is brewed with Citra Incognito, Strata, and Idaho 7, then dry hopped with El Dorado, Chinook, and more Strata. Juicy and fruit-forward while maintaining an easy bitterness, this IPA is made for everyday enjoyment. Notes of ripe nectarine, orange peel, peach rings, and a dank, cannabis-like finish make this an illuminating choice" 74 ibus

Description is right on the money

Just read this will be available almost year round to. Awesome IPA I hope to be able to get out to some BAs. I prefer this over Yellow Rose all day after having multiple cans/tap and different batches.
