How interesting. Before I read what you wrote, I was like "I am pretty sure I hit every craft beer store and bar in Okinawa and never saw this". Makes sense now. Or actually, it doesn't. I wonder why they don't keep any for themselves. Great artwork by the way. Except for the fact that there is no Fuji-like landscape anywhere in the Okinawan archipelago. Interesting choice.

Speaking of Okinawa, I was looking in the back of the closet the other day and found a couple of my wife’s high school year books. Her dad was in the air force and stationed in Okinawa for a number of years. She spent her first three years of high school (1967-1969) there. The picture is her sophomore yearbook 1968. It was an interesting read.

 

Good day BAs! Thanks @AzfromOz for starting today's thread and sharing your choice of a truly awful beer. We've all had one but how many of us document it on WBAYDN? Fortunately for me, today's New Breakfast Beer, a bottle from a NINJA STRIKE by @snaotheus during BSBIF#1, is excellent:



Final impression and summation: 4.5 Very smooth and flavorful, lacking the harshness associated with many Russian Impy stouts and many whiskey-barrel aged brews. The cardamom comes through, particularly as it warms, with the cinnamon part-way through and ginger eventually appearing. Never any vanilla but that’s I flavor I can rarely detect. No coffee. In general, an excellent Impy Russian stout! Thanks Ryan!

Good morning BAs! I took yesterday off as a cleanse day as I plan on doing some drinking this weekend. Today marks another naked day for me (“Will you still need me, will you still feed me (beers), when I’m 64?”). Starting such an august day, as is my habit, with a BOMB, this morning it is BA Birthday BOMB!:

Hot green chilies, chocolate, caramel, a little bourbon. No coffee which has turned green peppers (mostly masked by the hot verde sauce). Some vanilla on backend. Mouth warmth from 14.7%. A wee long in the tooth, but a tasty way to start the day!

Enjoying a Green State Lager, 4.9% - hope you're all doing great! Cheers!



-Look: Light yellow with a loose fizzy head that falls fast.
-Smell: Nice baked bread and grassy fields.
-Taste: Delicious baked bread malts and grassy hops.
-Feel: Thin to medium, loose and slippery, low carbonation.
-Overall: Very good German Pilsner that's highly drinkable!
