Hamm’s Appreciation Thread (2024)

Maybe my favorite macro. Up until about a year ago I could find 6 packs of Hamm's 16 ozers for $4.49. It's still a bargain at $6.49, and I'll pick it up on occasion.

As my money situation seems to be getting tighter and tighter these days I'll probably be drinking it even more than before instead of beers I simply can't afford.

 

Pork chop in a can. Hamm's is a guilty pleasure, kinda like PBR and Mickey's for me.

Hamm's is one of three in my rotation of AAL's. Tastes very slmilar to Stroh's IMO. It's up to $20 for a 30 pk in Ohio. Five years ago a 30 pk was $14.

 

Gotta ask, isn't the tagline misleading these days?

 

Hamm's is not a big deal in the New England area. Most stores don't have it and the ones that do Ive only seen it in 12 oz can 6 packs and 24 packs. Its not like Narragansett which is in every store you go to.

 

Milwaukee, WI, is Cream City. Brew City as well. But sky blue waters occur further northwest. Where the fishing is great, but the quarterbacks are average.

 

Not a lotta "lofty balsams" that I've seen.

And buddy @GreenBayBA is a long drive from Milwaukee.

 

I think I'm actually closer to Cream City than he is, but no thanks on the Hamm's hat.

 

@Blogjackets -- "Sky Blue Waters" looks like a trademark on the can. Better not tell Minnesota.

I had Hamms in the 70s. I also tried Rainier, Rainier Not-so-Light, strong Rainier Ale (maybe 6%abw), the very good WA supermarket Rainier Ale (~4%abw), and Rainier Dark Draft. I didn't buy Rainier Light-Light. I doubt that either Hamms or Rainier tastes the same today.

 

Buy the 30PK.

 

Palm Desert has it as does Phoenix(AZ).
