Heist Brewing Not From Concentrate

February is my favorite month

 

1) Venn Pils (5.6%): A Czech Pils from Minnesota with flavors of German Pilsner malt, bread, some lemon hop flavors with a bitter, dry yeast.
versus
2) Bauhaus Wonderstuff (5.4%): A Czech Pils from Minnesota that has lemon citrus, pale malts, and smooth buttery flavors. (Mismatched the two beers blind)

Winner:
1) Venn Pils: Czech Pils Battle from The Cities. First is Venn Pils. This one is growing on me and an impressive Czech Pils. It's salty, bitter, and yeasty. Great flavors and I enjoy the bitterness here.
Next is Bahaus Wonderstuff. One of my all-time favorites. A bit more lemony and smooth. These are both excellent, but surprisingly I'm giving Venn Pils the win here. What a great Czech Pils.

 

Duchesse Petite in the glass. This is excellent, review over at the NBW thread.

This somewhat quirky beer goes well with this quirky album by Harry Nilsson, The Point. It is the soundtrack to a kids cartoon he did. The music is really good...
