Picked up some Super Zero. Very nice. Definitely more flavorful and hop forward than expected. Recommend it!

Now I don't know anything about anything but when it comes to a price point shouldn't it be closer to, say LaCroix, then to a 6-pack of beer? Are hops that expensive? Or is this labor? Does Super Zero go through a boiling process?

And thinking more about it, I'm guessing they're pricing it as such because they can (and good for them and the hopefully healthy margin this brings them) and more importantly because they're marketing it to people in the beer segment not sparkling water segment...

1.5 lbs per barrel of Sabro & Nectaron hops are not comparable in price to the essences used in La Croix, not to mention its massive scale. La Croix is a high volume, low margin product. Hop Water is a niche, low volume, higher margin product.

Picked some up as well, really like the mixed berry flavor. It's definitely different, and I would recomend this to anyone who likes sparkling waters and IPAs to give it a try.

I had a Parson’s Beer at Parson’s Chicken last night. The beer is made and canned at Rev which I thought was a pretty interesting relationship.

A collaboration with Harold's Chicken Shack would be epic.

I hope, but only if we can grow this one to a big enough size first.

The real question is, when are you going to replace the sparkling water tap at the taproom with a super zero one?

I'm kidding, but I do hope super zero gets to be a permanent tap behind the bar at some point.

Can is better, I promise. Not ideal for draft along with a lot of other NA products.

Was surprised Super Zero NA Hop Water is taxed as an alcoholic product with the higher city and cook county alcohol tax rates, vs. 2% for food / water / other NA beverages like soda or tea.

I looked into it a bit, and I'm guessing it may have to do with the fact NA beverages from a brewery are subject to the same distribution laws (specifically the Illinois Beer Industry "Fair" Dealing Act) which expressly applies to malt beverage products under 0.5% that are marketed as an alternative to beer, at least in Illinois. NA products including Super Zero are not taxed federally per TTB regulations, regardless of how they are marketed, at least based on what I found online.

Thought perhaps Hop Water would not be considered the same as NA beer like 0% Guinness. Could also be they had it coded wrong in the system, but I'm guessing it is correct. The lone exception I found is wine used by an church or religious organization for sacramental purposes, provided it was purchased from a licensed manufacturer or importing distributor, except perhaps The Beer Temple.

I try to do this annually and finally got around to trying all this year’s releases. If we were to include VSOGB, it would’ve been 3 on my list. Interested to see other’s opinions as well. Biggest letdown for me was On&On and biggest surprise was Life Jacket.

Sadly, my wife got sick right before release so I didn’t make it to release but had friends proxy. Just now trying on & on part 3. Is this a cuvée? The stout component is hitting nice… but I think it’s missing some of the BW balance/component. Rev has perfected BA game for both BW and stout but has opportunity in cuvée.
