    Just needed a beer and am finding much more joy in life because of it. Schell's Deer Brand is doing it for me these days. Glad I got home before it rained tonite/this morning. A couple months back I had a not-so-good expensive Pilsner from Barrel Theory and now I realize that it pretty much tasted like Deer Brand...but not as good. Keep up the good work Advocates!!     What, no @Shanex yet? Well, I came here to join him with one of the beers he likes to drink.

    Not my cup of tea arguably, but I'm sure it tastes better when consumed fresher and closer to the source.

    Good day BAs! Thanks @LesDewitt4beer for starting today's thread - too bad we don't see any Schell's brews here.

    Today's New Breakfast Beer isn't, isn't New that is. Back in 2017 I got a bottle from an on-line beer store and reviewed it then. Today's Breakfast beer came from @2beerdogs in NBW BIF #17 and was just hiding in the back of beer reefer #1.

    Final impression and summation: 3.75 Seems a bit thin for a stout; otherwise, passable aroma and flavor. Predominantly chocolate with no barrels – since the brewery is called “Barrelhouse”, I’d expect barrels to be involved.

    Rating 3.58, rDev -7.5%

    Thanks Derek - It's rare that I get to repeat a non-local beer. How did the most recent stack up against the 2017 sample? Obviously terroir and tastes change, so in this case the rating dropped from 3.81 to 3.58. Means nothing, probably within 2 SD.

    It's super good and from a local butcher Von Hansen. I also picked up the "Double Smoked " sausage and black pepper beef snax stix. Addictive! Enjoy your venison!

    Bingo! I like their horseradish mustard on brats as well. It works better than Guldens brown mustard for certain things. Sometimes I'll step up the spice a bit and do Dijon or Coleman's. Cheers!
