    While true, regional threads for example do not pop up on the main page. If they did it would be a mess.

    And ultimately, deciding not to click on a thread I have no interest is what I do. But if the main page starts filling up with mostly threads I'm not interested in (WBADYN, appreciation threads) I use the site less.

    Everyone uses the site differently and for different reasons. Me personally? I go to the New England forum since that's where I live. And I open the main page to see what's new in the beer world that people are discussing.

    If some day I want to get involved with trading, cellaring, or move to a different area of the country, I know where on this site I can go to. But I would never want ALL those subjects on the main page.

    As long as the participants are strictly attractive women then I’m all in! Sadly, I believe the average BA user is male, 52 years old, and hovers around 230lbs…:flushed:

    A separate appreciation forum would be cool, because then it would be more organized. There may be a "brown ales that less than 6% abv appreciation thread" that only me and four other people want to look at, but at least I'd be able to find it with ease if it were in its own forum.

    Is there a way to elevate threads so that what you want to see pops up first? I suppose one could use the Watched Forums feature, no?

    They are annoying, but I think they should continue to exist.

    Not my cup of tea (or glass of West Coast IPA, clearly the best type of beer in the world), but I understand why people like them.

    If anything, this thread has drawn more attention to the various “appreciation” threads, thus increasing their visibility and popularity.

    I don't mind or care either way haha. That's my vote!

    Although I will agree with you in part. I'm not sure if beer styles deserve their own thread necessarily--especially ones like pilsners and imperial stouts. Don't most of us already appreciate those styles?!?? That's the point of this whole website.

    Now that irony is dead, how’s about a Beer Appreciation Thread? Could be a place to post beers that defy rigid style guidelines — or for BAs like @zid who enjoy challenging classifications.

    Regional is truly regional, so it doesn't apply to everyone. Stouts (for example) are not limited to one area of the world, so it's true beer talk.

    Also, if you are going to the New England forum, why are you so concerned about the main page? Just curious.

    Sorry, I may not have been clear. I go to the New England forum AND I explore the main page. That's it.

    But that's just how I use BA, we're all different!
