    Hey there!

I'm in my late-20s, and I live in the Denver, Colorado metro after living in Minnesota for most of my life. I tend to favor the more trendy brews like hazy ipas and ciders but I'll never turn down a traditional IPA. I'm mostly on here to log beers, and expand my tastes if I can. Nice to meet ya.

Hit me with the one beer I should try if I visit your state, providence, or country!

It sounds like you're digging right into this craft beer culture and discovering your favorite styles, and this site is a good place to keep tabs on your efforts by keeping a log. You can also learn about the characteristics of all the styles. You can read reviews of beers that you're considering to buy. Many other features here await your discovery, so go ahead and explore.

Beers from Michigan that I'd recommend to you are one that you can get in Colorado, Bell's Two Hearted IPA, and one that you probably can't find, M-43 New England IPA. Both have national notoriety and you'll enjoy them if you haven't already.

Welcome to the BA site. Enjoy the ride.

Moved to a good beer state...sorry, great beer state. I think other than Ca., Co., may get some of the best craft beers available.
    Enjoy the BA site.

Thanks for your recommendations! I'm not familiar with M-43 (I'm sure due to my location) but I do hear Bell's come up often when talking quality brands. I'll absolutely keep my eyes out for those. Thanks for the welcoming

I forgot to include the brewery name for the M-43. It's Old Nation Brewing.

    Welcome to Beer Advocate @Coyote42069

I don't drink ciders or many hazy IPAs that are balanced. I will second @PapaGoose03 's great suggestion regarding Old Nation M-43, one of my favorites of that style. Would say Treehouse is another great out of state brewery, perhaps the best for NEIPAs.

From Chicago, I recommend Hop Butcher For The World. Their still somewhat new (14 months or so) taproom is a great spot to visit. Also love they list all their hops and tasting notes on their cans. They do a great job over many styles, but here are my favorite Hazy IPAs + One WCIPA from them:
    • Cali Cool (WCIPA Brewed with Citra, Centennial and Waimea)
    • Loophole Technicality (Brewed with Amarillo, Strata & Galaxy)
    • Meet The Nelsons (Nelson Sauvin)
    • Meet The Amarillos (Amarillo)
    • Megabite (Citra & Amarillo)
Any favorites from Denver or Minnesota you recommend we should seek or try on a visit?

    Cheers!

Hey welcome aboard. The following is by no means a substitute for asking for specific favorites. However, lots of folks have fun chasing the “Top” lists.

For USA States, give this a try.

plenty of other lists too. Including “Worsts.”

    have fun :beers:

Thanks so much for these recommendations! I get around the Chicago area with some frequency, so I'll absolutely keep these written down.

My favorite Minnesotan brewer is easily Surly! Their flagship Furious is an all-around solid IPA that you can find in a few states (even here in CO) and I'm a huge fan of their main hazy called Drips and Drops. Axe Man is also great, especially if you can find it's Mango flavored version. I fully recommend checking out the taproom near the University of Minnesota campus if you happen to be in the area.

I'm still figuring out what's what in Denver, but thus far Cohesion, Cerebral, and Comrade Brewing have all been great experiences!

Thank you @Coyote42069 for your response and recommendations. I have been to Surly and had a great time with the bartender and fellow customers. They made a big push into Chicago several years ago but don’t see them to often. I like Axe Man and Coffee Bender best among their widely distributed beers.

I’ve been to Denver, but not since I started drink craft beers, so I’ll need to check out your recommendations. I typically fly direct to/from Vegas, but one year might split a to flight to Denver and stay a few days to check out your beer scene, perhaps the GABF, and then continue to Vegas.

    Cheers!
