New Glarus Brewing Milk Chocolate Stout. The color is pitch black, with a very thick light brown foam atmosphere. The smell is pure milk chocolate. It smells better than a candy bar. Very enticing. The taste is very similar to a delicious chocolate shake. Light, creamy, slightly sweet, and succulent. This is quite a treat. The mouthfeel is silky, smooth, and full, with medium carbonation. Overall, this is delicious beer. It has a better aroma, more flavor, and a more vivid character than many notable barrel-aged stouts. New Glarus Brewing has triumphed, once again, at making a beer that is not overly complicated, but truly spectacular.

3 Sheeps Brewing Wisconsinitis. A cream ale. Taking a shot at the title of Wisconsin's most ironic craft beer, New Glarus Brewing Spotted Cow. The look is a beautiful, clear, gold color. There is a very slight white foam ring. The smell is buttered popcorn, white toast, lemon, and Ritz cracker. The flavor is buttered popcorn, that was dipped in champagne, busquit, and lemon. The mouthfeel is light, crisp, clean, and sparkly, with medium carbonation. Overall, this is a solid, easy-drinking beer. I don't believe this beer is a worthy title contender, but I anticipate drinking a lot of it outside of Wisconsin's professional sports stadiums.

Mildly cloudy, golden yellow body; dense, lively carbonation; thick, rocky head, white and creamy, excellent rings of foam circle the glass. Beautiful scent; light floral tones with berries and musk melon. The taste comes across with light biscuit infused with delicate fruity esters; oats; mild citrus quality; light to moderate hop bitterness. Medium body; soft with a touch of gritty carbonation; low-key residual sugar feel with a deft touch of dryness on the finish.

Well, now. This is one fine India pale ale. The can label calls it a "westcoast India pale ale", and other than a dash of cloudiness to the body, this beer kicks some serious dorsal posterior. Everything aspect is a wonder to behold and tickle the senses with. Hopefully I be able to scare up a few more cans of this beauty.

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

...per the can label, hopped with Simcoe, Citra, Nelson, and Mosaic...a joy to indulge in this beer...

Hey friends, thanks for sharing so many beers thus far this weekend. We woke up to some very pretty white stuff, it was sticky and everything was just coated in white, it was beautiful. Now it is melting away little by little as day time we've been hovering above freezing.

This is a beer from one of the OG, at least to me, craft breweries. I don't remember ever having this beer back when I did buy more Avery so here goes...

Avery Brewing - Ellie's Brown (American Brown Ale 5.5 %)

Pours a beautiful clear, chesnut with ruby hues, dirty white head that leaves some nice lacing and a thick creamy cap.

The nose jumps out as malty sweet, something almost brown cookie like about it to me; but this is accompanied by a really nice toasted nut quality.

The taste again is malty sweet, but no where near syrupy or overbearing; this is very unique in that it gives off a lightly creamy vanilla like vibe, there is some noticeable nut quality which to me comes off as roasted nuts; minor spice quality from the hops on the finish.

Mouth feel is light, perhaps ever so watered down feel; that light residual sweetness is present but quickly clears out after a dry finish that has a low moderate bitterness, leaves you wanting a next sip.

I enjoyed this beer, I was a little thrown off by the sweetness present but it was far from off putting. I have another American Brown Ale that I much prefer to this one but I think it is just preference, as I could see enjoying this one again in the future if they opportunity presents itself again; I wasn’t the biggest can of the sweetness. Grabbed in Maryland a few weeks ago, I haven't see this beer in NJ for a long time.

Some good cozy up on the couch weather tonight with multiple hockey games on, Leafs at 7 and I'm hoping I can stream the Stadium Series game between the Devils and Flyers. Love the idea of all the "in the area" teams playing two games there, should be an awesome atmosphere for the fans and players. Go Leafs go, and Let's go Flyers!!!

    City ipa roughtail brewery
...cloudy gold orange appearance with a fluffy lasting white head
...medium carbonation with a close to medium body.
...aroma is bitter hops, some malt with lots of pine resin.
...taste is almost identical to aroma with it having a very mild sweetness which quickly is overtaken by a blast of bitter hops.
...overall its very good and I'm not an ipa fan. [IMG]

Brewers notes : Brownie is an Imperial Stout created from select bourbon barrel-aged stout aged 12 to 24 months and then conditioned upon chocolate and coffee. The resulting beer is absurdly delicious, carrying a medium-full body with rich notes of brownie batter, bourbon chocolate fudge, tootsie rolls, coffee liqueur, and pleasant pervasive notes of medium-toast oak. Its depth of character is only possible with time, patience, and careful stewardship. A product over two years in the making, we are immensely excited for you to enjoy it!

I love Tree House. My favorite brewer. The wax on these bottles is thick and tough . @DigitalNate , I’m looking at you!

Chilled 500ml waxed bottle poured into a tree house customer appreciation embossed snifter . Autumn 2023 vintage , 12.3% abv, a heavy hitter .

Pours a Black motor oil, thick , viscous , heavy, heavy liquid . Dark brown pencil thick layer forms and soon thereafter fades away , recedes to a faint brown ring.

Aroma is subtle bourbon, smells like rural Kentucky, baking cocoa powder, fudge brownies , molasses, toffee…not getting as much coffee

Taste is sweet, bourbon ,fudge brownies ,chocolatey, pecans, tootsie rolls indeed!!

Velvety Smooth, thick, no boozy heat but definitely punches in the heavyweight class, rich body with little or no carbonation

Great beer, luscious, rich, velvety..gonna need two years on the peloton to equal the calories in this brew

[IMG] Jeremiah Johnson mountain man scotch ale . Or @muchloveforhops3 beer as I've been calling it[IMG]
    ...solid black appearance
..medium light carbonation with about a medium body. Has a very slight slick feel.
...aroma is earthy peat, bread, malt, and some sort of dry hop element.
..taste has a very mild sweetness but definitely, oddly comes off very dry as well.otherwise it stays close to the aroma.
..overall I didnt like it,then it warmed up,then I warmed up to it. Its good, interesting and not like scotch ales im familiar with. But again its good

Just finishing it now,it was actually very good. I like a beer that makes me take my time to try and figure out why I'm not getting it. Sometimes that's because it isn't good but this was good and unusual which is a great experience

I usually go into the Cellaruary weekends with a Plan B and the day I didn't I should have...

This bottle of 2014 Allagash Confluence was undrinkable. It didn't look terrible, but it did seem kinda "gooey" thick on the pour. Actually smelled a bit fruity and slightly funky, but it had no flavor and no carbonation, bizarre mouthfeel. If I can't force it down, it's certainly worthy of the drainpour moniker.

Better luck tomorrow with another cellar dweller...

Pours a slightly unfiltered straw color with a foamy white head that provides minimal lacing. The nose is a bit subdued with a nice pine note and a bit of dank citrus.

The dank citrus flavor is more pronounced on the taste and delicious, and the pine provides a nice bit of bitterness. Really good stuff.

The mouthfeel a bit lighter bodied than expected and very crisp. This is a beer I'd gladly try again.

I used to drink a LOT of this about 20 years ago. I thought it was great back then, but tried it recently and realized it's not quite what I remember.
