    Black Rock stout crossroads brewery
    ..solid black appearance
..light carbonation with around a medium body
...aroma is oddly blackberry followed by chocolate, char, wood and coffee
...taste is very similar to aroma with the addition of some tobacco.
..overall its very good but have seen such a carbonation explosion like this before[IMG]

From my Kansas haul, Surly Double-Bladed Axeman DIPA, 10.8% ABV; 4.41 overall

Pours a slightly hazed honey color with a finger of eggshell colored head. Nice head retention & lacing

S: Bready, some pineyness & grapefruits shows up once warm, everything else faded

T: Dry, very piney, some caramel & breadyness up front. Some caramel sweetness mixes with a load of pine & dryness as this beer warms up, some citrus hops on the edges, grapefruit mostly. Cakeyness pick up in the finish, very dry & piney with plenty of grapefruit

MF: medium body/chewy with restrained carbonation

Stellar no nonsense West Coast DIPA, less than 6 weeks old & the hops a what you expect from these guys

High praise for this Tripping Animals (Doral, FL) ‘Everybody Loves the Sunshine’ BBA Imperial Stout!

2023 version, aged 30 months in bourbon barrels, and conditioned with marshmallow and Madagascar vanilla.

16.9 fl oz white-waxed bottle, poured at 56° into a Cigar City snifter.
Lively fizzies dance atop a finger of deep brown head and deep black brew.
Aroma of molasses, dark chocolate, prunes, dark caramel.
Taste just explodes, stretches into the realm of chocolate decadence, dark stone fruit, and a touch of boozy pleasure. The carbonation pops through abject density and propels the beer into a dreamy chocolate egg cream, delivered by the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man. Time in barrel rounds the experience with mouth-puckering woodsy intensity. Sticky sweet stays on the lips between pulls. 13% ABV warms the cheeks. Really super stuff.
Mouth is exquisitely dense. Quite high and very tight carbonation.
Overall, a World Class effort, if you feel like dropping the required $50.00 to get it.

Jester King Doom Forge Coffee Imperial Stout, 9.3% ABV; 4.14 overall

Pours an effervescent mahogany with pinky+ of tan head. Below average head retention & lacing

S: Some coffee, a little vanilla & caramel. This could be more up front to me

T: Coffee, come cocoa notes, a little nuttyness & dryness up front. Plenty of coffee, dryness, roastyness, vanilla & cocoa as this beer warms, Dry finish with much coffee/chicory presence, dark chocolate. a touch of mint & vanilla

MF: Medium body, a little booze bite, silky smooth carbonation, pretty darn warming

If you love your Imp Stouts coffee forward, this your huckleberry. Very nice, I believe this may the first non-sour offering I've had from these guys

One of the best Triples I've had. Lovin' it!
    St. Feuillien Triple 8.5% ABV
    4.47/5 rDev +12.9%
    look: 4.5 | smell: 4.25 | taste: 4.5 | feel: 4.75 | overall: 4.5
11.2 oz bottle production dated 26/06/23 into a snifter.
L: SRM 3 Pours a radiant light orange gold with a slight yeast haze, slowly poured, a thin white head that is just edge foam, very good steady carbonation bubbles, no lacing, extremely light sediment over time.
S: Banana bread, spices, light fruits, a hint of grains.
T: Banana, citrus, clove, light apple, pear, lemon, orange, a touch of confection sugar, wheat, Belgian yeast, distant grains, sweet maltiness, fruit esters are throughout. It is medium-full flavored and is overall fruity.
F: Quite brisk to lightly punchy then moderately smooth medium bodied mouthfeel with a smooth & soft medium length finish that has delicate dryness.
O: Gently sweet, fruity, and very tasty. Superb feel. One of the best Belgian Triples I've had. It has a beautiful balance overall and is world-class in its style.

Queen Junie, from Transient. The freshest of the three but still many moons old,
this one featured all the specified flavors, especially the salted caramel - which is the one aspect I was most concerned about going in. For whatever reason, I just don't enjoy salt flavor in my beer.
In any case, the pour was used oil black and viscosity - the dark brown head was short lived.
The aroma was still lost to my Covid damaged nose.
The taste is coffee and chocolate and vanilla and maple syrup and salted caramel - along with stout of course, though with all the additives the nuances of the dark fruits and such are all but covered over.
The feel was appropriately viscous; the appearance of the used oil speaks of particulates but there were none. Nicely smooth.
I think this is my last Junie, and likely the last one I'll buy for myself - Just not that into salt in my beer. Yet I enjoyed them all, salt or not.

I actually recall my dad and our next door neighbor standing around outside having a couple Billy beers over a split rail fence when they 1st were sold and neither one of 'em liked it. I think my dad was into Busch at the time. Cheers!!
