Going tart & citrusy with Fernson Orange Tangerine Curio. Wincing is good! For sure a Cellaruary beer. Only a couple oldies remain. Cheers!

Running low on Tree House, but it's probably going to be a few weeks, at least, before I can make it back up there. Going to enjoy what I have, while I have it.

A dusty KBS dated 03/06/18 in a goblet that predates the bottle. The date means I bought it in the midwest shortly before moving to Colorado. Time isn't a friend of this beer. While not a drain pour, the coffee has faded leaving it with a bitter dark chocolate and slight molasses taste. A mild hint of warming barrel in the finish. It'll suffice on a cooler day with light snow falling. I decided to have a beer and re-watch The Pacific on Netflix instead of going to buy lumber.

    1) Ayinger Altbairisch Dunkel (5.0%): A German Dunkel with flavors of brown bread, earthy Munich malt, bread and yeast.
    versus
    2) Sam Adams Boston Lager (5.0%): A Vienna lager from Boston with flavors of whipped ripe caramel, cinnamon, brown bread and toffee notes. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

    Winner:
    1) Ayinger Altbairisch Dunkel:
Dunkel vs Vienna Lager battle. I thought these would taste fairly similar. Ayinger pours darker with a larger head. Slightly more earthy bread notes.
Next is Boston Lager. Slightly more amber notes. They both have a rich caramel flavor to them. Actually quite similar aromas and flavors overall. I could tell them apart, but not as easy as I thought.

Pretty good beer. I agree with the east coast flavor part of it, not sure about the west coast clarity claim.

    1) Drekker Asteroid Joyride (8.0% canned 1/30/24): A NEIPA from North Dakota with Strata, Galaxy, & Simcoe for flavors of orange, lemon, candied pineapple, passionfruit & guava
    versus
    2) Hop Butcher Mirror Ball (7.5% canned 1/2/24): A NEIPA from Chicago with Citra, Mosaic, and Centennial for flavors of juicy orange, pineapple, sweet berries with some bright, floral pine notes. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

    Winner:
    2) Hop Butcher Mirror Ball:
Drekker vs Hop Butcher NEIPA Battle.
First is Drekker Asteroid Joyride. Strata, Galaxy, and Simcoe. Some great candied pineapple, guava, yet smooth and sweet tropical flavors. A good one from Drekker and may pick up more.
Second is Mirror Ball. Great hop combo with tons of juicy orange, tropical pineapple, berries and a touch of smooth pine. Just the right balance of berry and pine with flavors that pop. I think this is what Hop Butcher does so well is balancing the sweet berries with bright floral, citrus, and pine notes and mixes them perfectly. I didn't even think this is one of their better IPAs, but it's growing on me.

    Good evening BA
A rare, short 10 hour work day today. Celebrating with this

@TCgenny they closed yesterday's thread before I could respond to your question. My RSV symptoms were lots of mucus, a persistent cough and fatigue. I figured it was just a cold, but after 5 days it was just getting worse. Got tested and rested for 3 days just to get a chance to heal up. I've heard it's extremely widespread this year.

    Howdy BAs!

After watching that recent Tree House blind test with this stuff I figured, oh why not.

It's been decades since I put this liquid in my mouth. Thought I hated it. Nope.
