Figure I’d start this since it’s been popping up on draft in Maine.

Still listed on tap at Great Lost Bear currently. Probably less of a crowd then at Novare.

I wish it or Elder would show up on draft in Massachusetts. Especially at Moe's, seeing as it's 20 minutes down the road from me...

That was part of my motivation for starting this. To see if someone saw it somewhere in MA…

Had it at GLB last night. Glad it worked out as it seems from the above it has kicked now

Was there last year. Crowded at opening but calmed down soon after. No limit on pours. If I remember correctly they expected it to last the day. Was well worth the drive up from Boston.

How is it? Does it live up to its great reputation?

Does anyone know when Russian River started distributing to Maine? Used to be Philly was the only place on the East Coast that you could get PTY or PTE.

It’s a delicious beer. Had it the first time a couple years ago and it met and exceeded all of my expectations for what it is. If you enjoy big west coast IPAs, you will not be disappointed.

This said, I would expect many trying it for the first time to say it is “overhyped.” I see this a lot with Heady. There are just so many great beers these days, particularly hoppy beers, it’s tough to be blown away when trying something that has been highly rated for a long time.

Been getting Elder for a few years now. At least two I believe. Maines had RR beers for a bit. It was more widely announced this year. I remember having it a ways back in kittery and buying bottles.

Had it in CA earlier this week. It lives up to the hype for the most part - just a great west coast IPA and almost absurd that it’s a triple.

I would be interested to hear how people here compare it to Triple Sunshine and Ephraim. I’d say it was better than most of the times I’ve had those, but not better than the best TS I’ve had.

Even if it was overrated, Novare will still have other Russian River beers. Having some STS, Pliny the Elder, and the “-ation” sours wouldn’t suck.

Thank you!!! Living vicariously  I've the Pliny the Elder many times, but never the Younger :slight_frown:

At Novare right now. Walked in at 12:10, have a Younger and Elder at 12:18. Small wait but the line is growing, but still inside for now. Chill crowd. Great beer.

Left a little after 1:30. All the RR beers were still pouring, no wait/line and a very chill hang. Even some people drinking on the patio in the sun.

I have never seen RR in MA. I was in Portland in November, & Arcadia had PTE on draft. I traded for PTY a few years ago, & it was legit.

Yeah it started (RR distro in Maine) around the time of the Wild Friendship release (Summer 2022).
Russian River is not distributed in MA.
