First beer or the new year. About to start a stimulant when the pharmacy gets their together so gotta cut back anyway. Might as well drink the good shit in small amounts

 

Bridge walking today, over the Mississippi River between Iowa & Illinois, on my walking partners 71st birthday. A few other close friends met us at Tap 22 for a little celebration. Today's beers, Kona Big Wave Golden Ale (top left), Stone Delicious IPA (right), & Maplewood Son of Juice IPA (lower left). Cheers!

I was up on a ladder holding up pipe with about 50 pounds of chain on it and felt my shoulder crunching....I dropped tnat shit in a hummingbirds heartbeat but still felt a burning for a couple of hours.

Was scared shitless to beach and deadlift today but it was painless. I wanted to be in the 1K club by my birthday but that won't happen!

 

Still windy and now snow is picking up pace. My band BrassZilla just got a gig at the Twin Cities Jazz Festival this coming June. Makes me want a beer and a double at that. Bell's Hazy Hearted IPA x2. Not quite crushing, but close. It reminds me a bit of Sawyer Chainsaw Squatch Down Under but not as clean. Cheers BAs!

 

Founders Breakfast Stout (8.3%): An Oatmeal Stout from Michigan with flavors of Belgian chocolate, coffee roast, and cinnamon spice.

Seen a few of these today. For whatever reason I enjoyed it much more in previous years. The coffee seems stronger, which I'm a bit sensitive toward. Maybe it's a change in the beer, maybe just the change of label, but I think most of us agree that Founders' went off their rocker with the new beer labels. I don't know when I'll stop complaining, but I'm still bitter about it. I've got to re-learn to like this one.
