Okay, no one else has opted for a new thread, so as the resident fanboy -- I'll take the leap.

Here's last year's thread for reference:

Our 90 seat taproom features a live-edge bar, multiple seating areas including long communal tables, a cozy fireplace lounge, and an open view to our brewery. The lounge is available to reserve for parties of 20 or less and we will consider requests for 12 or more in the taproom. Please contact [email protected] for more information.*

*Look for changes this year... hopefully.

The main prompt for the new thread: Muse of Fire. Technically brewed in 2023, but I finally grabbed some for "damp" January and... wow. The freshness of this one really takes me back to Bamberg. Smoky, yes, but not so much so that it overwhelms -- but not so faint that a newbie might not be shocked... at first. A couple swallows in and you're hooked!

It's a "wait and see" situation right now. I have some insider info, but I don't want to jump the gun.

In the meantime, brewing is still stellar.

I really hope they can expand their distro this year. I would love to see them in the Rockford or Mchenry Binnys some day.

Always excited about the possibility of good news for Roaring Table, but I hope they don't jump into something risky at this moment in the craft beer economy. It would be an absolute shame for a stellar brewery like RT to get overleveraged or otherwise get hurt by the market for a business decision when they're so good at their trade.

I'm looking forward to the day I can get down there and finally try them out. Today was going to be the day but Mother Nature decided I can wait a little longer. Anyone who HAS to travel today in this region, be careful out there!

It sounded like they took care in planning -- not taking real giant steps and utilizing space that became available (BTW -- I see hints at their FB page, so I'm not letting secrets out).

Not sure how it will effect distribution, but it sounds like production will expand some.

Yeee excited for some permanent RT distro! Curious which beers will turn into flagships. Maybe Helles, Tuba Solo will probably be more available for sure. American Burger maybe?

They bought their next door space so they're just growing their taproom a little. Not sure if it'll just be the brewery or the seating area though. Their production area is very small tho, I'm sure they're looking to expand that.

Yeah I would keep that info inside and let them announce anything if/when they are ready

That was my intention (and my ping to Ryan), though there are hints at their Facebook page -- as was mentioned.

Just sayin', but the latest batch of Dunkel is delish.

    :flushed: :beers:

Maibock season and St. Patrick's Day are almost worse than Okto season.

Hell yes! Bar and Grill, baby! Loved that last time, although on Untappd it says "Expect Citra again and again" for the original batch, but this one has Citra, Strata, and Nectaron apparently. Either way, it's gonna be awesome, nothing else quite like these beers in the area.

I think we're also starting to see some mainstays in their lineup with the increase in production capacity. We saw Helles and Concordance not too long ago, love to see them back so soon!

Wish we got more Maibock/Helles Bock in general!

FWIW -- I was in the taproom last week and didn't notice any expansion yet. Well hidden behind the walls? Don't know. But yeah, I know there's still Helles on the shelf at Binny's, but that's not a bad thing!

Yeah, I was a big fan of this beer. The batch from last year (assume only the one prior release?) was Citra and El Dorado and it was outstanding imo. Big fan of their 'California-style' DIPAs (e.g., Concision, this beer). Unique DIPAs we do not typically see in this market in my experience.

I just checked my review from last year and the Maibock was canned in May. I hope our friends Lane & Ryan aren't jumping the seasonal creep!
