Isn’t this beer from Brooklyn, NY (not Framingham, MA)? Being that the Gowanus Canal is in NYC.

It would seem that beer is contract brewed at Jack's Abby.

    Cheers!

Yeah, it's contract brewed at Jack's Abby for Threes (a Brooklyn brewing company). Threes doesn't do everything in-house. @LesDewitt4beer

I like their Schild Brau Amber Lager, which I first purchased in 1985, on a trip to the Amana Colonies. Didn't even know a brewery was even there, just came upon it at the end of a street. It was the 1st year of operation. Only were making a few beers then, but Schild Brau is still brewed almost 40 years later. Millstream also makes a fine Oktoberfest.

...I like both beers you mentioned...I was last their in May of last year...I seldom find myself traveling I-80 through Iowa, but when I do, I generally try to visit the colonies for some beer and food...I've brought enough back to Colorado to throw some into some beer trades and beer it forward (BIF) exchanges...

A little research shows me a Facebook post from Feb 19 introducing NG Session Lager available in the latest sampler pack....which I cannot get any info on. Hilarious. Keep your eyes peeled. :beers:

Okay, I finally took the time to put together some play-along content.

My post workout and "house beer" these days and what I believe to be the best German-style Pilsner available in the U.S. today. Trumer Pils clocking in at a hefty 4.9 ABV.

This one goes out to my scientific friends @unlikelyspiderperson , @Orca , and even our very assumptive contributor @Providence. One beer in and the buzz is hitting me like a wrecking ball.

    Okay, maybe not.

Let’s see, I’ve been to Wayfinder, Chuckanut, Live Oak, Urban Chestnut and Schilling to name a few. Krug Club member at Notch. I’ve been to Munich and Germany itself multiple times.

And this past summer I went to Vienna, Prague, and Plzen.

I am by far not an expert by any means. But based on the above I’ll give you a less than satisfying answer.

No one is the best. We’re blessed in that they all rotate what they brew throughout the year and all come damn close and maybe even surpass their European counterparts.

Cheers mate (English, but whatever, I like cask ales too)

Of course you would say that aboot the Austrian brewed Pilsner copied in Berkeley California. I wholeheartedly agree.

It seems Threes doesn't do anything in-house anymore — all cans are contract-brewed now. This might be related to the demolition of the warehouse that they used to brew in due to the recent Gowanus rezoning.
