Lagunitas Willettized (12.4%): An Imperial Stout from California aged in rye barrels with coffee for flavors of woodiness, fudge, coffee, cocoa, some bourbon

Second try at this for the year. As others have said, this maybe one of the few quality BBA stouts that is still lower priced. Picked it up for $2.99. I'm not sure how they marketed out a lower price point, but they're on to something. Nice balance of coffee, chocolate, bourbon. Nice balance and flavors. For a BBA Stout it's solid, and for the price is excellent.

Definitely agree. Haven't seen those in a pilsner, but a Nelson, Motueka combo sounds lke a pretty nice combo for an IPA.

 

I invited @cheeseheadinMinneapolis to drive from Minneapolis, MN, to Sheboygan, WI, to join me for a beer. He did.

 

To follow up from last night, my buddies coffee shop was literally wrecked when a car drove through the front of their building. Apparently the SUV was stolen and involved in a high speed chase, that ended with it in the store. The husband and wife that own the shop are great, and I use to host monthly beer tasting with him at The Ginger Man in Houston (we did this for close to 8 years ha).

Starting off the weekend with a partially new (I was fortunate enough to try the small test batch they ran in the fall) lager from Jack's Abby. Big roast flavor.

 

Lagunitas IPNA for now, I'll have a real beer later on.



@seakayak - you might enjoy this, I thought it was interesting, especially getting a look inside one of those bunkers.

 

@tasterschoice62 that's tough, we joke about burning this place down at least weekly.
