    Yuengling Bock Beer
It's been 10 years since they released it last. 190th anniversary I believe?
    It's not great, but serviceable.
It has that "Grandpa's Bock" taste, akin to Shiner, not Einbecker.
It's good for an in between homebrew filler beer, at least for a 12pk.

Good Sunday to all you BA's! Sunny and 74 for now but since bike week at Daytona began last Friday it is obligated to rain again today. Hop Bullet while prepping lunch after enjoying stage 1 of the 2024 Paris-Nice 7 day cycling race.

Day 3 of the beer battle will point out the worst beer.
Testing low price lagers and comparing them with Amstel pilsner as benckmark.

1st day Landerbräu came second after Amstel, and was beating Can Premium
2d day Brouwers beer was winning, close call with amstel with bottle premium lagging behind.

Today is battle in between the Can Premium from and the Bottle Premium - which are totally different lagers. Can is darker, lower on the ABV, with caramel addes to colour it. Bottle is stronger, cheaper, pale, and actually lacks distinct aromas/

    The 4 beers involved:

Research point out that both are brewed by H-West in Maarssen Netherlands, which leads back to Bavaria (Schwinkels), a family brewery in the Netherlands. Funny thing is that Landerbräu was also produced by Bavaria. Brouwers is a supermarkt label, and can be brewed by different brewers. Research shows nowadays it is likely Grolsch.

So it is quite interesting, two beers no one would voluntarily drink, from the same producer with a different name, how they compare:

    I volunteered to tell you:

Price: Can comes at 1,36 a liter at 4% abv, bottle at 87 cents for a liter at 4,7%, so the better choice to get drunk cheaply.

Looks: can wins on color, although now i see a nice small bubble carbonation and lacing seems a bit better on the Bottle

Smell: can wins, malty and sweet, bottle does not have distinct flavvour.

Mouthfeel: both are watery, but can wins again, the dry finish of bottle is not pleasant.

Taste: can wins, it is drinkable, bottle is less drinkable,

Can wins, but still i recommend looking for other options.

    1) Badger State SKI-BRW (5.6%):
A Czech Dark Lager from Wisconsin with nice earthy, nutty, floral flavors.
    versus
    2) Bent Paddle False Hibernation (5.2%): A Czech Dark Lager from Minnesota with flavors of black malt, bread, coffee roast, cocoa, and dark fruit. Dry, clean and smooth. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

    Winner:
    2) Bent Paddle False Hibernation:
Czech Dark Lager Battle. First is Bagder State SKI-BRW. Nice dark and bread notes. A little earthy and nutty. Great flavors.
Next is Bent Paddle False Hibernation. A new beer and my second try at it. Very impressed initially. Again it has cocoa, roast, black bread and yeast. Some hints of dark fruit. Complex with a clean and smooth mouthfeel. A fantastic representation of the style.
