Full review in the New Beer Sunday #993 thread. Bottom line I can be apprehensive about malty styles, but Spiteful always puts out ones I really like or love, borderline call with this one.

 

Warmer and sunnier than expected today. Feels nearly tropical. Was going to have my last Shed but decided on something a bit lighter.

 

Hop Butcher Reply Hazy Try Again DIPA (Citra, Motueka, Simcoe). Feeling reflective right now. I specifically remember having the first batch of this beer in a limo to Midway Airport for my best friend's bachelor party in Vegas. Environment is a big part of beer memories and that experience certainly put this one on the top shelf of Hop Butcher beers for me. Seven years later enjoying it in my own home, it's still tasty stuff, but it won't come close to that specific time and place.

 

This one very fresh is always tasty.

 

1) Hop Butcher Kielbasa King (7.5% canned 12/27/23): A NEIPA from Chicago with Mosaic and Nelson for flavors of white citrus, grape, overripe berry, melon.
versus
2) Toppling Goliath Broccoli Special Reserve (8.3% canned 1/23/24): A NEIPA from Iowa with Citra, Mosaic, Simcoe, Blanc for flavors of mango, sweet orange, pineapple, and lychee.

Winner:
1) Hop Butcher Kielbasa King: NEIPA Battle and Hop Butcher Sunday. It's a warm one.
First is Hop Butcher Kielbasa King. One of their flagship and best IPAs in my opinion. Fantastic combo of Mosaic and Nelson.
Next is Toppling Goliath Broccoli Reserve. Great hop combo and Blanc addition. Both of these are fantastic. The Hop Butcher flavors stand out a bit more , but it's a bit more sweet. This is one of my favorite IPAs.

 

Proper Brewing ‘Blizzard Wizard’ Hazy Pale Ale.,. Cheeeeers!

 

Hightower Coffee Stout. Yikes, something is very wrong with this one. No review as it must be a bad can. Heading to sink and will choose another beer. Cheers.

Spiteful English IPA



Full review in New Beer Sunday #993. This beer beat my high expectations, English style with the malt, nice pine citrus backing. Really like this one.

As heard at Spiteful, because Spiteful is awesome.

 

From a very fine hoppy beer to a very fine stout.

66 degrees here in Central MA at the moment - got the windows open and enjoying some fresh air. Having a St. Bernardus Prior 8 Abbey Ale to complete the picture. Going to be starting a pot of chili soon for dinner.



Had another strawberry/baby spinach salad for lunch. This time I remembered to add the shaved Parmesan cheese.
