Pipeworks have had theirs out for a week or so. And look at Ayinger. Hey, Half Acre have their new 'summer beer', Reef Knot, hitting stores already. I think it's just a helles but still kinda funny in how it is branded but released in February (although some recent days have felt like summer, admittedly).

I understand, but that's my point -- RT hadn't fallen into "the shift" before.

FWIW -- I was at Binny's Lake Zurich last week and asked if there were any Maibocks out yet -- and no. The beer section person didn't even mention Ayinger -- which is probably good, because I've seen last year's Ayinger Maibock still on shelves.

Received a nice informational email yesterday that I forgot to share:

MAIBOCK, German-Style Spring Lager 6.6% ABV
If we’re gonna have 75 degree days in February, we might as well get to drinking Maibock now, too. This one is crisp, fairly dry, and on the lighter end of the spectrum at 6.6% ABV. It’s fragrant with flavors of meadow flowers and honey that only German malts and hops can conjure after a long, cold ferment. Drink it in the sun!

    CONCORDANCE, Czech-Style Pilsner 5% ABV
After a short absence, Concordance - our Czech-Style Pilsner - returns in cans and on the Lukr faucet in the taproom. Some people say Czech Pils is the perfect beer, and some people are very wise indeed. Expect silky impressions of shortbread malt structured around a firm and spicy Saaz bitterness, followed by a strong desire for a refill.

RICE, Japanese-Style Dry Lager 5.1% ABV
With summer seemingly just around the corner, there’s no better way to enjoy a languorous afternoon than with a light lager. So here’s Rice, simply named and simply brewed with a bunch of Jasmine rice. Simple, yes, but nuanced and expressive nonetheless, with crisp notes of sushi rice, wildflower honey, and a mysterious case of disappearing sweetness. That’s because it’s “Extra Dry” and you had better have another sip to be sure. It’s perfect with food!

HELLES, Munich-Style Golden Lager 5.25% ABV
*As we’ve grown over the past six-and-a-half years at Roaring Table, we decided to take the jump into year-round offerings, and beginning with our Helles seemed like the perfect way to start. We’re extremely proud of our Lager program here, where we use elbow grease and raw force of will to produce world-class examples on less than perfect equipment. And the Helles stands at the head of that program, a beer we have tinkered with, dreamt about, worried over, and taste-tested since day one. We think it’s ready for prime time!

BAR & GRILL, California-Style Double IPA
This is an expensive beer because it was very expensive to make. We took a simple pale malt bill and loaded it over and over again with hops - expensive hops! - to create a deeply saturated hop experience. We put T90 hop pellets in the kettle, but also Salvo CO2 hop extract and Cryo hops. We put Incognito in the fermentor, but also T90 and CGX concentrated hop pellets. We put hops everywhere, and the result is an expensive and delicious Citra-, Strata-, and Nectaron-driven hop bomb. If you don’t like hops, this beer is definitely not for you!

*Specially highlighted is the info in the Helles paragraph.

Oh nice, just signed up for their emails!
Excited to grab some cans of Helles and Maibock for sure. Curious if they decoct any of their beers. Although with their equipment not being so fancy, I want to say that it's doubtful.

Getting great extract from the malt nonetheless!

The new IIPA, Bar & Grill, is rather phenomenal. Juicy, bright, clean. Booming hop tone. World Class stuff.

We're thinking that the plan might be to make bar and grill a rotating West Coast dipa with different hops each time we put it out.

As for the seasonal creep chatter, these beers we released last week all happen to be our world beer cup entries, so we had to get them all canned before entries were due at the drop off location earlier this week. We like our maibock, so we decided to enter into competition, which meant we had to release it a little earlier than actual spring. I hope you can find it in your hearts to forgive us for releasing a "spring lager" a little before spring actually hits.

Sign me up for this. This beer is in my IPA wheelhouse. Hopefully others enjoy it as well. Seems to be getting positive feedback in the thread certainly!

Loved the Maibock! I've never had a Helles-type bock before, but this blew me away. I don't think I can ever go back to drinking Helles without knowing that there's a Helles on steroids out there. Going back for another 4.

Also had Bar & Grill - not as bright as last time, but still a great beer. Not sure if the El Dorado was a better combo or all of the hop products somehow don't taste as good as pellets.

Maibock/Hellerbock is probably my favorite style next to Okto Märzen. They're not terribly plentiful, so I'm glad RT is brewing up a great rendition.

I believe it's a rotating brew, so whenever the fancy strikes.

FWIW -- I saw Vienna on shelves recently, but I'm pretty sure it was the last release from some months ago.

@cryptichead -- FWIW, I had the opportunity to check those 4-packs this morning -- filled last August.

Yeah we've been brewing Vienna late summer/early fall the past couple years.
