Sierra Nevada Torpedo IPA Pack

Yes, please! Will definitely grab this if I can find it fresh.

With (if I remember correctly) Torpedo sales shrinking, it always feels strange to see it as a source of brand extension. I might love Torpedo, but we’re not talking about Voodoo Ranger here.

 

I should add that I realize it could be a method of drawing attention back to Torpedo, but it still seems odd. If the sales are good then good for them.

 

Just based off of shelf space and freshness I'd say that Torpedo and Atomic Torpedo sell pretty well around here. They're ubiquitous and most of the time when I look they are less than 90 days old

 

Love Torpedo. Will pick this up if I see it priced well and somewhat fresh. I can trust SN IPA to be good with a few months on them.

I give them, and Stone, muuuch more leeway on freshness than anyone else.

 

Just found this in Sacramento with package date of 1/28 and everything looks like it was bottled in mid January.

 

Great! Torpedo is one of my top IPAs. I will definitely look for this one.

 

Didn’t this same pack come out last year? Or one very similar? I remember having one with Cold Torpedo and Cryo Fresh.

 

SN was always worried about shelf life. They leave (or left) a little yeast in the package to sop up stray oxygen. When it came available, they used a cap that also ate oxygen. They and Stone have relatively large operations that allow them to optimize their packaging lines, too.

 

There was a Hoppy Sampler Pack last year with SNPA, Dankful, Torpedo & Cryo Fresh Torpedo.

 

They still bottle / can condition their original beers like pale ale, Celebration, porter, stout and Bigfoot, but none of these “new” beers get that treatment. Sierra uses a spunding valve to “tank condition” all of their beers that aren’t bottle conditioned, so they are technically still carbonated “naturally “.

 

This is one I could get into if I could get it.

 

Torpedo Cold IPA was definitely in a sampler previously as well, it wasn't my favorite; I'm not sure I've had the cryo yet. The atomic was decent, the OG is still fantastic.

Yeah, seems Cold Torpedo was in the prior year's Hoppy Sampler Pack back in 2022.
