I think Molson Golden was the first "good" beer I ever had.

    1) Hop Butcher Mirror Ball (7.5% canned 1/2/24): A NEIPA from Chicago with Citra, Mosaic, and Centennial for flavors of orange, sweet berries, grapes, and hints of pine. Smooth and sweet.
    versus
    2) Hop Butcher Treez Freez (8.0% canned 1/3/24): A NEIPA from Chicago with Citra, Pacific Sunrise, and Mosaic for flavors of orange citrus, berries, and sweet grape. Hints of pine. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

    Winner:
    1) Hop Butcher Mirror Ball:
Hop Butcher NEIPA Battle. A fun one today. Been saving this battle for some time, but they are two months out and it is time. First is Mirror Ball. Pretty standard and possibly "old school" hop combination. Somehow these combine into tons of sweet tropical flavors and berries. The Centennial and Mosaic capture this beer.
Next is Treez Freez. New hop combination with Pacific Sunrise. Similar tropical Mosaic, but has a bit more of that lemon/lime citrus zest to it. Dryer and cleaner.
I bought eight of both of these and the more I try them Mirror Ball grows on me. Ovbiously both are top shelf IPAs and quite similar, but head-to-head I think I prefer the Mirror Ball slightly. I could go back and forth on these two.

Well I'll be darned. I didn't know Molson still made Golden anymore! Back in the early '90s that was a go to beer when I wanted something "fancy". :joy:

I just made a similar comment. Back in the late 80's early 90's I drank Miller Lite as my go to daily beer and Molson Golden when I wanted something imported.

Bundling up willow cuttings for future yard waste pick up. Might just find a convenient ditch. From all the road running I do around here I know of a few...just destroying these Lite beers with posting-prohibitive speed.. Cheers BAs!! :beers::beers:

Yeah, I picked this up in a 6 pack at the Global Wine and Spirits in Murray, KY. They definitely have a large variety there. I'm going to miss it when I finish college as the stores in my hometown focus more on the liquor.

I give it to the clay in this sidebside. More nose with the glass but head retention, lacing, mouth feel/flavor all go to clay.
The beer is a Roughtail IPA, 7.25%

Probably going to end today's drinking with this Ohio City Oatmeal Stout from Great Lakes Brewing Co. I'd only had Deschutes Obsidian Stout before this and didn't care for it too much, but boy did this one open my mind to stouts. Definitely a repeat buy. Smooth, coffee goodness.[IMG]

I live north of Atlanta and I don't think I've seen it around me in quite a long time. Good reminder to keep an eye out though. I miss those college days too! Cheers!

The Brewmaster at one of our local breweries worked at August Schell several years ago. He makes some excellent beers for us down here.
