On checking bags... I've usually just brought cans back home, packaged together, surrounded in a ball of dirty laundry. Flight time(s) have never exceeded 2.5 hours... but the cans are already under pressure, and should theoretically survive longer. Your mileage may vary... I've heard horror stories of people who have had cans burst/bottles break, etc.

I have brought a suitcase full of RR bottles in bubble wrap from California to Kentucky. So a 4 and 1/2 hour flight. No problem.

Correction, if you find beer sold in the above TSA limitations, you can.... I will take a "flight" of those if you find them

Same with me but switch "Kentucky" to "Ohio" and "RR" to "RR and FW".

I've brought home bottles of ale from Europe by packing them in my boots which then go in the suitcase. Cans will work too, but airport security will open your bag since they show up on x-ray.

I recently returned from a trip to Colombia. I had 8 beers and a bottle of liquor in my checked bag, and no problems.

Some airports, especially PDX, have stores airside where one can purchase bottles, cans, and growlers and take them onboard. One cannot consume them, but one can transport them.

Of course, depending on your bladder strength, whatever beer you do consume prior to taking off may technically reach your destination as well.

If I was doing this, I'd make sure everything was bubble-wrapped and enclosed in heavy-duty Ziploc bags. If there is any leakage or breakage, you won't be picking soggy bags off the luggage carousel.

This is what I do when I ship a box of beer.

Thank to advice on here when I travelled and wanted to bring beer home. I just found a store, bought a big box and bubble wrap. Packaged up my box and that was my checked luggage. Beer was waiting for me at baggage, ice cold from the altitude.
