To be clear the Branch brewery is on the North Fork in Mattituck, east of Riverhead.

Yeah. And Long Branch has the Long Branch branch of the Red Bank bank.

I just heard about this brewery and assumed it was in the Village of the Branch, which is a super bougie north shore area.

Is this a new spot, or did they take over a now defunct brewery?

So 42 North is opening a downtown Buffalo taproom and it looks absolutely gorgeous. Projected opening this month.

They’re also looking at opening a spot in Skaneateles (spelled that without looking it up you can’t tell me SHIT) by the summer.

Spelling Sk . . .les isn't as hard as guessing the pronunciation. Ska-needles? anybocy?

I’ve heard it pronounced as Skin-ee-at-las

Upstate Brewing opening an outpost in Penn Yan. Fucking rules for me being so close in the summers in Canandaigua, as I think Upstate is sneaky one of the best breweries in NY.

Hmmm… I have only had a few, and they were good. Elmira is just outside my normal range, and it has been a while since last visiting Penn Yan.

Maybe it’s time to change that. Also a chance to see if Laurentide is filling crowlers yet, try Relative Risk (their hours are a challenge), and it looks like Seneca Stag is serving their own brews now. Heck, might even make it a weekend tour.

    Thanks for the update.

If folks are cruising that area, you can’t miss Spotted Duck ice cream. It’s a whole vibe.

In the ashes of Scorpion Brewing's (Owings MD) closing this weekend there was a post on their facebook about a new venture. On the mobile facebook I saw an associated page for "Unauthorized Brewing" in North Beach MD along with a landing page website. The facebook page was also brand new. I would wager this is the replacement venture in the ashes of Scorpion Brewing.... 13 minutes from Scorpion and on the water.

So meager details. I talked to Scorpion's owner and he was saying there was a trio opening up a 2bbl system in North Beach, MD. I was given a few other details about Scorpion's winddown but they've been in communication, to put it that way, long before Scorpion's demise via rent increase.

I don't feel giving a whole lot more because I might get the information wrong. Either case Scorpion's own facebook telegraphed this and I wish them good luck as they're about the 6th or 7th closest brewery to me in my portion of the metro area.

Looks like Hudson River Brewing has a new location, maybe one where they’ll have an actual taproom? I don’t know for sure because no brewery in the country is worse at social media but that’s what it looks like.

Looks like this place opened up very quietly but Miles, the Prince Brewing opened up in White Plains.

They have a Belgian table beer and French saison so I will be heading down there sooner rather than later to check it out.

Some activity in — LOL — Amsterdam NY! Schwalbacher Brewing aiming for a 4oJ opening and it seems like it’ll be a real cool spot.

Also, some Euro baking conglomerate bought or is buying an old mill and wants to turn it into a bakery, brewery and some other shit. LONG ways off on that one but a cool idea idea.
