Took a little longer than I expected to get time to sit down with a beer. I've been saving my last Sullivan's the past few weeks to make sure I could join in the festivities properly.

And to all (probably about two of you) who are interested in what movie I think is a modern retelling of one of the legends of St. Patrick, here is the next clue:
It is animal themed.
And I couldn't make myself spend the time to watch it this morning, which gives you a clue to its quality.

 

Be Hoppy is an outstanding west coast-style IPA! To me it has a similar flavor profile to Head Hunter, White Rajah, Flower Power, and Stone IPA. Cheers!

Maine Beer “Mean Old Tom” ! This is going out to @vabeerguy !

 

I mean, is it the obvious choice today? Yes. Is it still absolutely delicious and a perfect beer? Also yes.

 

Thought I had some old Guinness squirreled away somewhere, but this will have to do.

 

Gnarly Barley Catahoula Common/Steam Beer



Pours a pale light gold color with lasting white cap and good lacing.

Aroma of sweet grain and sharp/floral hops.

Taste on entry is medium malt that's clean, tasty and very satisfying. Hops kick in at about mid palate and laste through the crisp, dry finish and pleasant aftertaste. This Common Beer is brewed with Cascade Hops which give it a familiar, old timey taste that brings back a lot of scent and palate memories for me.

I could go on for paragraphs and every thing I say would be positive. I like California Common beers and I'm glad to find this one in our distribution area.

 

Good afternoon, all, and Happy St. Pat's! Drinkin' local at a "local." I dedided to stop in at Cooper's Tap Room near the UNI campus for lunch, and this place is dead. I figured it'd be raucous, what with it being St. Pat's Day and all, but this suits me just fine. I'm drinking Easy Eddy, an NEIPA from Big Grove, Solon, IA, whilst listening to Toby Keith singing about red Solo cups and about how I don't have any testicles because I'm drinking out of a glass. Yes, it's a dive bar. Excellent beer, BTW. Sláinte!

 

Between storms, it is nice enough to be out in my courtyard with the pupper. Foreign Extra Stout in the glass of course...and starting Colm Toibin's novel on Henry James called The Master.



No pupper pick of Moe this time, the neighbors were all out in force and he was playing with all of them. Until he heard the first thunder of the afternoon, and now he is behind the couch, so storms seem to be rolling back in.

My Fighting Illini against Wisconsin in the Big Ten Tounry Championship game in a little bit. See you guys later.
