Have you tried 140 yet? I liked both a lot, but personally thought 140 edged out 139. Wanna say they use the same ingredients but different process.

That’s awesome, I have to grab coffee and IC latte tomorrow so I’ll pick that one up. I think I just enjoyed that house yeast flavor(the fruit stripe gum thing) that came through very strong in 139. Reminded me of treehouse through the years with some excellent hops in there.

It was there for so long, I definitely double dipped Double-double Flip. I agree, fantastic beer and I would take it over the Truth series but I am also a fan of Truth. Hopefully, and I don’t see why they wouldn’t, they keep cranking the BA stouts/barleywines.

Momen of Truth! They changed it from blue wax/label to orange. The first time I had it, it was one of the best stouts of the year

Edit: Guess I'm completely mis-remembering the color of the wax. It was orange afterall... This is why eye witness tesimony scares me

    Concert Q!
Have you guys gone to a concert at Deerfield Summer Stage? I have tickets to a show that I can no longer attend, but the FAQ on the site says they are non-transferrable and they check the name on the tickets to the buyers ID. Do they actually do that or can I pass these off to someone?
    Thanks!

I can't speak to the concerts, but I had tickets to the fireworks last year in Charlton that were "non-transferrable". Couldn't make it because they got rescheduled. I emailed them and they were more than happy to transfer them to another couple.

Stopped into Tewksbury during my kid's karate lesson and grabbed a mixed case. Was intrigued by Sequoia and hoping for tree house's take on something like Celebration. Very disappointing as the hop aroma is nearly nonexistent and it's a malty mess. Can just says Spring 2024 so no idea how old it actually is. Total bullshit that the rest of the case (Haze, Green, Greenish, Julius and Bright White Sun) all have born on dates. I didn't understand how they can justify not dating a Red IPA.

I had the same experience with Sequoia. Just a real bummer result of what I thought would finally be a legit WCIPA from them. How can you name a beer Sequoia of all things and have it NOT be a bitter-as-hell hop bomb?

For what it's worth, according to their social media this appears to have been canned around March 1st. But it should absolutely be dated.

Also, the day I picked up my cans they had tweeted FRESH HAZE! But the cans I got were two weeks old and hence need to be drunk faster than I would otherwise drink them if I want to get to them before they start to fade. Lame.

Mighty and Mighty: Oak have been available for a year now. I'll let TH do the aging for me and grab some more this weekend because I already drank the ones I bought in July that I said I would age

2 week old can date should not be cause for alarm.

In often have cans left 2-3 months from TH that taste just as good.

Kind of thought we left the need to drink instantly tbing in the 2010’s? As well as “roll the cans” and “it’s a bit green”

    Sequoia issue is understandable.

Nelson and Simcoe don't scream Celebration to me in the slightest, but many seemed to have that expectation based on the Red IPA label. I found it to be a little bit of a strange beer, for sure – enjoyed the whole cone Simcoe variation I had on draft last week more than the original canned version from the beginning of the year.

I get what you're saying, but in my experience the beers do fall off a bit anywhere from 4-6 weeks. They're still good after that, but not at their peak. In any case, if a customer has a preference for fresh beer (whether warranted or not), and wants to buy the freshest beers available, they should be able to do that. Selling two week old cans on a day they advertised a fresh batch of that same beer makes that impossible. Holding off on tweeting "fresh Haze!" until the old batch sells through seems like a reasonable ask, so that people who want super fresh beer can make an informed purchasing decision.

May be mental for me but I concur. I want to drink my cans in the first 30 days if at all possible. 45 days is pushing it for me.

Red Fern is very good. Definitely has a sweet peachy flavor going on as advertised.

And at $5 a bottle??? Dang I may have to go as well. Luckily the haze bros are funding all the interesting stuff (include me in this general categorization as well).

Woodstock seems to be open year round?

Naive question: which Treehouse beers are brewed at which brewery? Do they all crank through the whole catalog, or do they each brew a few and ship beers between locations?

The only real brewery now doing beer brewing and retail is Charlton. The others function as taprooms. Not sure if anything is happening at the old Monson spot(which is closed to public). So if you’re ever visiting keep in mind that a beer they release on their IG that day in Charlton, will most likely not be available in Tewksbury, Deerfield, Sandwich until the next day. In some cases it is, but not many.

Woodstock is a cider producer that I believe is also brewing some beer, but more limited.

I believe theyre doing something in Monson but I can’t remember, definitely nothing that’s part of their regular production (ipas, lagers, stouts). They may not be brewing anything there.

Almost all of their beer is brewed in Charlton, outside of Woodstock. Charlton makes the wart, and ships it to Woodstock, where they finish the brewing process.

Here’s an interesting question. Does TH still do open ferm / spontaneous/ wild beers anymore?
