Forest & Main - Bitter @zid this was my first time trying this beer of theirs. Definitely far away from the Suarez beer we were talking about in terms of flavor profile
I just saw on Fox Farm Brewery's Instagram they are installing a couple of beer engines. Dark Mild and Best Bitter on 1st. Excellent!
Went to an English-style beer event held at the Khyber Pass Pub in Philly tonight. Forest & Main - Pigeon of the Peak (English-style IPA), a gravity pour from a Pin Wells Bombardier - from the beer engine
That hazy IPA pint glass makes me cringe w/ such a nice cask pour! Come on beer bar use an appropriate vessel !
Yes ideally both of those beers should have been in Imperial Pint Glasses. But it seemed this bar basically assigns the various shapes of glasses based on volume of pour (a sliding scale based on ABV going from Pint>Tulip>Snifter).
I get that with the amounts, makes sense. I just don't like the use of a "Founders" or any other brewery logo other than the brewery in the glass. IMO, do it the Belgian way or use plain barware. I guess I'm too much of a glass snob, sorry
This is my favorite cask ale Good Word Brewing in Duluth, GA serves: Analog Life English style Dark Mild 3.6% ABV. I could literally drink these all day.
First time having. Brown Ale on cask. It's REALLY good! Read The Room English style Brown Ale 4% on cask, from Good Word Brewing.
This looks like a great spot in Duluth. Never made it to that part of the state, but would definitely drop in if I'm ever nearby. Should be finally getting cask for the first time since my Philadelphia trip this week, which I'm stoked about. Thanks all for keeping this great thread alive!
Since you enjoy cask, I definitely recommend it. Most people overlook Good Word because it's not downtown Atlanta. They brew mostly classic British, German and Czech style beers and obtained the Cask Marque certification out of England about a year ago. Easily the number 1 or 2 best brewery in Georgia. Cheers!
Hand pulled Heady Topper from the beer engine at The Alchemist. I assume it's cask conditioned but I didn't ask
Not much recent action on this thread... I am a big fan of Troubles End Brewing (Collegeville,PA) - they made this post yesterday on social media:
. Yeah, wow! It has been a while. I don’t get to drink out much, and miss seeing posts here. Maybe a post in prime time might draw some attention.
Made a quick stop at Heliotrope Brewing in Lexington VA while road tripping down I-81. Shadow Cabinet (Special Bitter) from their Beer Engine
Looks like this thread needs a 2025 start, so I'll gladly oblige. Good Word freshly tapped Digital Comforts English Style Best Bitter 3.9% ABV. Maris Otter, Crystal malt, Special Roast, and Victory. Has a nice subtle citrusy note in it. Easy drinker on Sunday. Cask Marque certified serving. Cheers!
Had a tankard of Exhumer at Troubles End Brewing (Collegeville, PA) tonight via one of their beer engines. A very tasty Dry Stout - nice dark cocoa flavor, and excellent mouthfeel
