    Good morning all.

Cuvée des Trolls in a 330ml bottle. Interesting thread yesterday and I was fairly dazzled by @Beersnake living the life and enjoying gorgeous Switzerland, amongst some other life events in the VB.

    Memphis Made Fireside Amber Ale

Dark Amber color is almost cola like with a small, quickly diminishing white cap.

Aroma of malty malt with a touch of spicy hops. Dark roast is evident in the scent but no hint of bitterness.

Flavor is well balanced with emphasis on the dark yet sweet malt. I usually get bitterness with dark malts but this one is rich instead. Not really complex but has a touch of sweetness in the finish that comes as a surprise and rounds things off nicely. Hops are present all the way through and are just sharp enough to leave a very clean finish.

    From a 16oz can.

Beautiful crystal clear amber pouring beer. A bit of carbonation bubbles rising in the glass. The head is a white and 1 finger. The head is not long lasting at all. No lacing on the glass.
The aroma is a grainy, malty, buttery biscuit. There's a slight floral hint to the aroma.
This beer tastes a lot like the nose. It is a malty beer. Lots of grain/buttery biscuit flavor. Somewhat sweet tasting, almost like a hint of honey in this beer. Somewhat of a floral flavor in this beer.
Very smooth and full body in a small package. The body is almost creamy feeling.
This is damn delicious and a pleasure to drink.

Morning, BAs! Found a CBS stashed in the cellar. Makes for good lunch-time cooking encouragement (my partner is sipping on the Prairie BA French Toast).

    Shiner Bock

This is good, no, let me rephrase that, this is quite good for what it is. It isn't a German Bock, it's a variation of AAL, and has met with wide acceptance because people like the flavor. Attractive brownish redish color, malt/hops appear in enough volume to be heard, texture is thinner than Euro styles but still medium, taste leaves a sense of sweetness without actually being sweet. Remarkably consistent, I get the impression this beer was designed to compete with the Vienna style lagers from South of the River. As a crossover from AALs this one performs well and the lack of roasted malt bitterness makes it an easy drinker. Works well with food, most any occasion, most any company.

Is popularity reason enough to buy it? Well, yeah.

It really tastes like a hoppy popsicle in a nice way. Maybe I should try to freeze this in summer.

I like this, though, the aroma is lacking the coffee.

    From a 16oz can.

Dark brown pouring beer. When held to the light, amber hues shine through. The head is a tan and 1 finger. Long lasting and there's a bit of lacing on the glass.
Roasted malt nose. Hints of caramel. Not really getting the coffee in the aroma that is billed on the can.
Taste - I am getting the coffee in the flavor. I do get some roasted malt flavors. Some caramel. I also get a hint of milk chocolate and some vanilla.
    Smooth body. Decent fullness.
While the aroma is lacking in what is billed on the can, the flavor makes up for it. Tasty.

I'm speaking for most UT grads in saying that I've pounded many Shiner Bocks. It was just a bit more expensive than Bud per keg.
