    Opening Day brings back a lot of memories. Back in the day (like 40 years ago), a bunch of us Red Sox fans in Maine had an Opening Day ritual for their first home game. We would meet up at Jacob Wirth's, fill up on beer and brats, then walk to the game from there. More often than not we were freezing (it can be quite cold in Boston in April). Post-game back to Jacob Wirth's, then home, with a stop at the Golden Banana. A good time was had by all!

    Good morning, advocates! Pre-gaming as we speak. Baseball is finally back! As some of you know, I'll watch any game. The game has always been bigger than any one team for me. That said, I'll be tuned in to the Yankees opening tilt. Their starting rotation is the biggest question mark heading into this year, but that offense will score more runs than they did last year. Is it good enough to make the playoffs? The return of Gerrit Cole, overall health, & a trade deadline maneuver would go a long way towards that endeavor. OK, I'm rambling and no one reads these things anyway, so here's to baseball fans, good beer, and prosperity! Cheers.

    Took a long weekend, have today and tomorrow off...so that means its day drinking time :slight_smile:

    At Winnie's, for people that remember my $2 Old Fashioned's, well this is their other location. Which does really good sandwiches and po boys, etc. So, it is their lunch special, shrimp po boy and gumbo. With an Equal Parts Kaizen Rice Lager, which I really enjoy.

    My Fighting Illini don't play till about 9:30 in the Sweet 16, man that is just way to long to wait, and an all around awful start time, why do they schedule games so late...ugh. I'm probably going to have to take a nap first ha.
