Cheers to @MutuelsMark for this Bearded Iris EXTROVERT Kettle Fruited Sour, 6.0 % ABV; 3.75 overall

Was a chill Haze gold with plenty of carbonation fast falling cream colored head. Not much head retention or lacing

S: some Citrus some white grape little bit of paw paw

T; Follows the nose dry with Honeycrisp apple and a touch of lime up front. Plenty of lemon a touch of saltiness and a little green melon as a spear warms up, a little dryness as well. Finishes light and refreshing with lemons salt and green melon

MF: Medium body, crisp carbonation, some enamel clinging stickyness

Featured lemons are prominent, pretty drinkable certainly would work as a great summer time choice

It was good right to the end. And a vegetarian's dream. Now if someone can just figure out how to make a beer that tastes like bratwurst...

    5.2% Hefeweizen by Fidens
    [IMG]

Poured from a pint can, the body is a cloudy orange-yellow with white head. Light lacing during tasting.

Aroma is phenolic clove and an almost vinous nose.

Taste is a light wheat with clove and banana. No hop presence as the wheat carries the load. Uncomplicated and enjoyable.

Mouthfeel is very soft and light. The softest Hefe I’ve ever tried. Moderate carbonation.

A delightful, easy drinking beer that is their first Hefe.

Nice beer sent to me by @sulldaddy and BIF NBS 18, a Rotbier that drinks like an amber, nice frothy head, recedes to a cap, lightly carbonated, sweet maltyness, carmel, bready, medium body, little hops on the finish. Could crush a few of these, thanks Sully!

Ozark Onyx coffee stout, 5.3% ABV

This is an excellent coffee stout that manages to prominently feature the coffee without sacrificing balance. Tons of flavor for the ABV. Mouthfeel is a touch thin, with tons of aggressive carbonation.

Tasting and aroma notes are fairly simple and straight forward, but it's no less impressive for that. Coffee, cola, toast, nuts, light char, and cream.

I'm not sure how this beer currently ranks as the #1 American Stout on BA (fewer than 60 total ratings may play a part), but it is a damn good beer!

Land Grant - Totality, a black IPA that @ovaltine sent me in NBS BIF #18. Attempted @beergoot pour.

16oz can served in a footed pilsner glass. Can is dated 2024-02-2710.

Pours very dark, looks black at the wide spots and very dark brown at the thin spots, big dense creamy head, settles into a thick lumpy layer with something so substantial I shouldn't call it lacing. Smell is a proper confusion of dark roast and bright hops. Focusing on the one, it's primary burnt (or at least heavily toasted) toast and very dark coffee. Hops dominate, though, primarily with pine resin, maybe some grapefruit rind.

Taste is continuing the theme but reversing the roles. I get some vaguely date-like sweetness along with the dark coffee and singed toast as the dominant flavors. There's even a little bit of dark chocolate in there. Hops are certainly not lacking, doubling down on the pine resin.

Mouthfeel is on the light side of medium, clean, dry AF. Very good beer.

My first new to me beer this weekend comes from Revolution Brewing outta Chicago - “Unsessionable” an Imperial IPA with Centennial, Cascade, Galaxy, Chinook, Amarillo and Citra. My kinda WC hops (and Galaxy!), and the 10% abv has me drooling, let’s go!

Canned 2/15/24. Deep gold pour with excellent clarity; one finger of tight white head; excellent cap retention; heavy ring; bands of sticky lacing; streaming carbonation. Nose is lemon zest, pine, green melon and tropical fruit. Entry is bitter lemon peel followed by pine, melon, passion fruit; bitter but firm malt backbone balances bitterness and alcohol notes. Medium light body; alcohol bite (10% abv) on tip of tongue; moderate carbonation lends to a crisp feel; some face flushing warmth as glass empties. Overall, my kinda WC IPA; great balance of malt and hop bitterness; long bitter citrus linger; I even like the alcohol bite. I’d drink again in a heartbeat.

For me, a beautiful looking and drinking WC TIPA. Well balanced malt/hop flavors, neither too aggressive, and the alcohol a welcome equal at the flavor table. Wish I had bought more from Tavour. Cheers y’all!

    12 ounce can with:
    "24 097 16:31"
    on the can's bottom.

Moderate to vigorous pour yields a 3/4 inch white head over bright golden amber body with a little lacing.

Nose of slightly bready malt, slight toast, slight floral, and slightest pepper.

Taste of slightly sweet malt, slight lemon rind, finishing moderately crisp.

    Good mouthfeel with medium carbonation.

    Overall, a decent lager and wouldn't turn down another;
but I don't have another as this was a sample from a distributor.
    Ha!
    Cheers!!

Fox Farm - Witch Meadow (Black?), a 16% abv BBA stout with hazelnuts and toasted coconut, from @Roy_Hobbs in NBS BIF #18

500ml bottle served in a stemless, somewhat angular glass. 2022 vintage, batch #5.

Pours black. There was a short disgruntlement of dark brown head on the vigorous pour, but it disappeared immediately. Smell is boozy, coconut, vanilla, tons of chocolate, molasses, maybe some burnt coffee.

Taste is coconut and vanilla up front, borderline too much coconut. Tons of molasses and vanilla. Quite clearly boozy. Maybe some chocolate syrup. Let's remove the maybe, there's definitely some chocolate syrup.

Mouthfeel is very thick, very rich, not hitting syrupy or sticky, but SUPER chewy. Overall, very nice beer.

Portal unfiltered golden amber color with a sudsy light tan head that looks like a glass of iced tea, which is a good thing. The nose features fruity hops, some pine, and a nice bit of caramalt.

The fruit flavor is forward on the taste, and it’s more citrusy, like orange marmalade, which is delicious and works really well with the nicely bitter pine flavor and caramalt backbone.

The mouthfeel is full and very dry, and I got more than a bit of residual alcohol on the finish, which worked for this excellent beer.

Hey friends, pleasure to be back and some good looking beers thus far. I have off the following week and I’m looking forward to it. We made spring break list as a family and dads only want, beer shop, I got that done yesterday and grabbed some good ones that just retuned and of course I made sure to grab some new ones for this weekend. For today I found it fitting to go with a spring lager, from Troegs.

Troegs - Little Nator (Bock 5.5%)

Pours a burnished brown, verges on ruby hues; crystal clear with a nice dirty white frothy dense head that has some good retention.

Touch of toffee on the nose but to me it’s mostly bread like, light browned, it does carry some bread crust quality.

The taste is lightly toffee like; but like the nose the bread notes remain dominant; rich with some nice crust quality and light toastiness on the finish, touch of malt sweetness but it doesn’t linger at all, as this one finishes nice and dry; perhaps a touch of hops but hard to pinpoint notes as this is all about the malt for me.

Body verges on medium; full but very smooth, carbonation presents itself a touch lighter and almost creamy, it’s crisp and clean but doesn’t bite; this is nice because it allows the malt to shine, perhaps the lightest little touch of bitterness.

This is a really good beer and it’s nice to have a single bock accessible. I really enjoyed how malty it is and yet retains such a good drinkability. When the fridge needs more beer a six pack is probably in order. Recommend this one if you haven’t tried.

    ——————

On our spring break list so far we have checked off beer shopping yesterday (mentioned above), my addition ,and GameStop. Took our oldest there today for the first time, he was in awe haha; I treated them to new remotes for our Nintendo, feels good to treat them from time to time.

Have a great evening everyone, I’m gonna enjoy this beer for the rest of the evening and hope to be back tomorrow.
