This link below is the first post in what this Saturday marked my 1,478th consecutive WBAYDN beer day started on March 14, 2020.

My first post that day was a visit to Une Annee / Hubbard’s Cave Grand Public Opening at their still current excellent location in Niles, Illinois.

At the time, it was the closest brewery to my house and is still the closest brewery I currently visit. I get there most trips via a nice 2.4-2.6 walk depending on route through Caldwell Woods, a Cook County Forest Preserve within a mile of my house.



The First pour in this stretch was Une Annee’s The Airing of Grievances, a 10.6% Belgian Imperial Stout. Chocolate, raisins dates bread, nice aroma and taste.



No song pairing that post, I was really taking it all in. They make solid to great beer and food, though some Hubbard’s Cave beers are beyond my personal sweet comfort zone.

The City of Chicago, Cook County and State of Illinois began their mandatory government lockdowns on bars and restaurants the day after, on March 15, 2020.

This is how I became a daily WBAYDN drinker and participant. The past few years I enjoy one beer a day most days while at home, most times more in the event I go out to a bar, brewery or other gathering.

God willing, I will enjoy at least 1,154 more days to tie, 1,155 days to surpass Cal Ripken Junior’s MLB consecutive games played streak, and hopefully thousands more after beating the streak. Not sure if my streak is the longest streak in BA history, but it is the longest active streak.

Our fearless leader opened the thread that day, stating "Not drinking a beer? No one cares, so don't bother posting that you're not, but feel free to return to the thread when you are. "

The very next post read "Sad to say I'm drinking nothin'. Saving myself for a Dark Lord tasting tomorrow. :-)"

8/26/15 it was a Bomber of a pumpkin beer (the image does not show up).

Was the WAYDN thread numbering reset to 1 on the new server, or was the first thread created October 21, 2012? That was before my time here, and before most of our memories.
