Apparently I was around when BA moved from "Late Night Beer Advocate" to the "WBAYDN" format:

My first was WBAYDN #17, from the night Obama was reelected (11/6/12). Damn, that's going back some! Super funny that I was drinking something I would never drink now (chocolate stout)

Looks like my first "LNBA" was just a few months previous (9/15/2012). Also drinking something I would never drink now (FBS), ha ha.

Speaking of LNBA...I just looked it up...my first was 3/5/12.

I was drinking a Stone/Ninkasi/The Alchemist More Brown Than Black IPA.

Apparently I got in just before the first anniversary of the post that started it all, referenced above - WBAYDN #359 (October 2013).

I am surprised the image is still available, and I can see enough to remind me it was a tasting I did with the GF of two Abbaye de Saint Bon-Chien beers. I laugh that we were comparing beers way back then and that the Red Sox were playing October baseball.

 

Well it's time too start drinking my new BC favorite brew Russell Hop Therapy ISA ,
well played Germany , made me proud and happy !! really Brazil 7 goals against ;(

WBAYDN #3004., January 10, 2021.
I was a ‘lurker’, only used BA as a guiding reference for beer choices for many many years. (And I don’t do social media.,).
Joined up in December, 2020.

My first posted beer was Cigar City Mixcoatl Brandy and Mezcal Imperial Stout.



But, as with most newbies, I hadn’t yet figured out how to post photos.

Funny thing - I’ve since reviewed 670 beers, and wished I’d have joined 10 years earlier, cuz I’ve journaled, like, 5000 others.

 

It was late January 2021 and the beer I posted was Stone Delicious IPA. I was into gluten reduced beers at the time and I was bad re posting pics that were spammy and got yelled at. Not alone. All good now in that dept.

Longtime forum lurker as with several other folks.

I also foolishly spent 2008-2014 on RateBeer. Ugh.

Had to copy/paste hundreds of reviews over here and maintained both for a few more years as a form of backup.
