What Beer Are You Drinking Now? #4182

I have had it. A very good beer!

I will be joining you in a few minutes with a couple of Veil beers (one DIPA and one IPA) as soon as my babysitting duties are over.

 

BAs, There are two types of pours:
1) The @tolar111 pour, which is the classical fuck it, I will pour two instead of one.thank you.
2) The @Monkeyknife pour, which is a pour-8 minutes to find a great music video then post first beer, followed immediately by next beer/ a good enough music video.

Phase Three Comic Cake West Coast IPA. Big meyer lemon and pink grapefruit, both flesh and peel, as well as pine resin, earthiness, and slight dank. Dry, bitter, and clean finish. Highly enjoyable. Good WCIPA is hard to come by in Chicagoland, but these guys do it the most justice imho.

Barrel Theory Rude Awakening (7.0% canned 2/22/24): A NEIPA from Minnesota with Citra for flavors of bright orange, pineapple, hints of mango.

Trying more of these IPAs from Barrel Theory. I found this one quite excellent. Straight Citra NEIPA. Great and bright flavors that pop. Not too heavy or sweet. Sort of Toppling Goliath-esque.

 

Needy Needy. An IPA brewed by Veil.

Wife is having a nerve conduction and EMG test at the neurologist tomorrow. Hopefully, they can figure out the problem. She fell ten months ago. Broke her ankle and sprained her knee. Ankle fully healed and a shot of cortisone in her knee fixed that. But she still cannot still walk without a walker. She has physical therapy twice a week but, to be honest, it has not helped much.

Here is hoping the neurologist can help. I would like to be able to go on a vacation again. Hell, even to go out and eat. Suffice it to say, my cooking and house cleaning skills suck.

 

Good evening, all! Dinner at BrewBrothers, The Isle Casino, Waterloo, IA: Iowa tenderloin, fries, and Lagunitas IPA. Very limited tap list here, which is surprising since IIRC the BrewBrothers at the Eldorado Racino in Columbus offers several of their own brews. But as long as it includes Lagunitas IPA, I'm happy. I keep forgetting how fantastically good this is. Cheers!

Saint Errant Eyes of Felina West Coast IPA (Idaho 7, Michigan Chinook, Nelson Sauvin, Simcoe). These guys make great haze, but this is my first WC IPA by them. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I'm pleasantly surprised. Bright tangerine, passionfruit, spritzy ruby red grapefruit, grapefruit and orange peel, white grape skin, earthy pine resin. Dry and bitter. This is as good, if not better, than the Phase Three I just had.

Perennial Maman something I can’t remember… And now at this old German deli in my hometown that I went to since before, well, forever. Open since the 70’s, but the owners finally retired. They sold to a customer who did an ok job, but now it looks to have been sold again. Different bread and hearing Spanish instead of German doesn’t help with the nostalgia. But it was still ok and everyone was nice:

 

You might look out that same window in a bit and see some snow being delivered. Thankfully we're supposed to see mainly rain (1 to 3 inches) in my neck of the woods - I hope it stays that way. March was the rainiest March on record in these parts. Cheers and hopefully you're spared the snow.
