    Sunday morning… coming down.

Drinking Tripick Ambrée. I never heard of them until one or two years ago when they settled on the supermarket shelves, really good anything I’ve tried from them.

Lovely weather this morning so I did a walk. "Pre-gaming" for Paris-Roubaix with a Chimay for now. Cheers

Light golden color with medium white cap and lacing. Aroma is primarily juicy hops with a fresh scent.

Taste is hop forward with a sharp hop entry followed by a richer, deeper juicy hop flavor. I can feel malt in the texture but don't really taste much in the way of malt or even grain for that matter. It is clean, simple, refreshing and goes down well.

Overall it's a decent representative of the NEIPA style.

Good morning/day BAs! A pull from my basement cellar/beers stashed away last Christmas - FBS:

Bottled 11/17/23. Poured at 53°. Coffee still vibrant.

A short (hopefully) travel day ahead. I’ll repack the RV after my coffee and the temp outside warms up from the current 36°. Cheers and have a great day y’all!

IPA sunday, Testing two new ones for me. Rye River Coastal and Lagunitas i never tried before. Will compare them to Brewdog as benchmark IPA.

Rye opens creamy. Pours pale with big bubble, high carbonation. 2 finger head fast dissolving. Typical grapefruit smell.
BD: more amber better head, better endurance smaller in bubble and lower in carbonation. Lower in citrus tones a bit more fudge.
Lag: pretty simular to brewdag, but less hazy, more golden. Pretty head, small bubble carbonation. Some hempy hops in the smell.

    I would say:
    Looks: 1 Lag, 2 Punk, 3 Rye.
    Smell: 1. Punk 2. Rye 3. Lag.

    Taste and mouthfeel:
Rye has a lovely dry taste, and I guess you get some portions of the -are they roasted?- oats in there. Not unpleasant, but it lacks some fullness. (Will try the power IPA of Rye later on, guess I will like that one better).

After Rye Punk is tasting a bit sweet and blunt. I guess the citrus notes are cancelled by the the overdosis of grapefruit in the Rye. Mouthfeel is better, more creamy and round.

Lagunitas: you can onviously tell the 6,4%. That is a full bodied beer. Some tanginess at first sips, the hempy hoppiness is overwhelming with some wet wood malts, Very bitter aftertaste in the beer.

Going back and forth: Tasting brewdog again: better in balance, more refreshing. Then the Rye, too much oats and grapefruit, but it is not as smooth and hoppy as it claims. Punk is smooth, Lagunitas is hoppy.

Overall good old Brewdog wins for me. Rye river nr 2. Lagunitas IPA is nr 3, although obviously a well brewed beer, tastewise it is not for me.

    G'morning BA's!

    Happy Sunday funday!

    Happy National Beer Day!

Had an awesome day trip to Tarpon Springs yesterday, sort of a belated birthday trip.
I wasn't able to post pics from my 2nd brewery stop, Two Frogs. But had a cool conversation with another Patron while enjoying a NZ Pils called One World.

Didn't have enough time to hit up the other 2 breweries on the list: 5 Branches and Sponge City. Spent a little to much time at Replay Amusement museum playing old and new pinball machines and old video games.
    Next time for sure!

So this morning..a breakfast and beer post!

[IMG] With it being National Beer Day, I figure I should do my part. Not much spice, but getting a little heat maybe chili peppers.

Looking at the traces of lacing, which is probably retaled to the hops used, Lagunitas is quite some beer.

    G'day all!

Another snow prediction that failed to deliver.

I'm trying to watch the new Mean Girls. Whole lotta singing going on. At least it has Tina Fey in it.

    Prost!

Forgot to post this last night from one the most bizarre restaurants I've ever been to- Lena's in Alexandria. Port City dunkel, which was by far the best thing about dinner .

I think this is all I require, IPA wise... it's hoppy, bitter and burnt, even juicy when fresh...and frothy!

Got to DCA pretty early for the flight back to Atlanta, which leaves plenty of time to tet a local beer. This is Vixen Irish Red from OBH. Yum. Abe approves.
