I have to imagine they're the restaurant and hotel portions are the bread and butter. I stayed there for a weekend, probably close to 10 years ago, with my now-wife. It was a neat little "different" spot. And great to be able to pop right out onto Main St.

PUEMPELS in New Glarus, Wisconsin. Same town where the New Glarus Brewery is located.

I'll have to look up Puempels if in New Glarus again. We went to Glarner Stube last time we went into town after visiting the brewery.

Now under new management (I'm not affiliated with them), Party Town in Florence, Kentucky not only has 24 taps of craft beer, but also 60-75 bourbons & other whiskies to try. The staff is very knowledgeable, and many cocktails are also available. There's also a cigar bar adjacent to the beer bar. The negatives, however, are that (a) it's kind of just off to the side in a big box party store, not a real bar, but just tables and a bar area, (b) the selection is heavy on ales & flavored beers, and very light on lagers, and (c) they're only open until 10 PM Wednesday through Saturday, and a couple of hours on Sunday afternoon. Unfortunately their web site is temporarily offline during the transition.

And other Hill Country towns as well. I enjoyed Real Ale Brewery beer in Blanco a couple of days ago.

    Prost!

For me, it would be the House of Trembling Madness in York, UK. Just for the name alone! Located in one of the old, old Tudor buildings in Central York it has a bottle shop on the first floor with a small bar up in the loft, just a beautiful old Tudor building, bunch of funky eclectic furniture, gives you an almost medieval feel. They also serve up a mean charcuterie board.

Can't go wrong with the Funkatorium in Asheville, NC - easily the best selection of wild beers around!

(Also The Blue Door in Hendersonville, NC - but I'm strongly biased on that one!)

Kalamazoo Beer Exchange is probably the most unique place I have visited. Beer prices fluctuate throughout the evening based on what is being ordered. Less popular handles drop in price and vice versa. Also, a couple times a night there is a "market crash" when everything drops in price temporarily and patrons swarm the bar to get a deal.

Definitely makes for a fun evening.

In de Wildeman and Cafe Gollem in Amsterdam. Unique experiences vis- a-vis US brewpubs/bars. Great selections on tap (duh), but better vibes. Went to both places a couple of times and by the second visit people knew me. You'll make friends you're first night out.
