Good morning/day BAs! Thanks @Shanex for turning today’s key to open the bar. Some morning chores done…it takes almost an hour for a beer out of my fridge to warm up to cellar temp - KBS:



Bottled 2/8/24. Poured at 51°. Hits the spot this dreary cool misty morning.

Brother #2 is coming from Huntington to take me and Brother #3 uptown to hit a brewery or two this afternoon. See y’all then. Cheers and have a great day!

 

Urban South Brewery
Holy Roller IPA



Hazy light gold color with medium white cap. Aroma of rich resiny hops with a touch of grapefruit.

Taste on entry is solid hop flavors with an underpinning of malt. The malt is not assertive here, or even noticable as a separate flavor, rather a structure on which the hops rest. The hops are sharp without bitterness, clean yet rich and finish with a touch of grapefruit in the aftertaste.

Another hazy, juicy IPA that races around the course without any stumbles.

 

G'day all!

Could have some snow today. It spit a few flakes earlier this morning.

I felt like having a big beer and I have one with this Double Barrel Big Bad Baptist from 2021. I sense a minor intrusion of oxidation. I am not really surprised.

I had my first regular BBB on Sunday. Sadly it was infected

NEIPA from Brasserie Popihn (France).
Cannot find much taste, but that may be caused by a common cold. Almost deaf on one ear too. Well, at least it's not covid

This is a very good tripel as well,


Maybe a little bit a beginners or ladies triple, with the gentle floral notes.
But flabbergasting amazing they make this drinkable perfume out of 3 grains.
(How different than the Lagunitas IPA i have just poured through the drain - well made brew but what a nasty beer, I suspect it to be hemp infused. Probably a very good beer if you are into cannabis, but even though I am from "Amsterdam" I cannot stand).

I had many glasses and lost many more. Never had a Karmeliet Glass,
But shapewise, I deem the Triple Lefort glass as a pretty good choice :-)


Will practice on the exquisit finger position. We Dutch are less elegant than you Frenchies.

Years ago I bought a six pack from a relatively large craft brewery. Was one of my favorite in that particular style. Bought my fair share of them.

Anyway, one bottle was infected. Even the smell was obnoxious. Tried another bottle. Same thing. I ended up contacting the brewery and told them. I said I did not want any refund or anything. I just wanted to let them know so they would not lose customers.

The brewery asked for some information on the bottle. Researched it and told me I was correct. They identified the batch. Said they could not send me any beer but would send me lots of brewery paraphernalia as a thank you. And they did.
