It's still Saturday here in the USA as it is before midnight and I'm having a Koko Brown from Kona Brewing. This one was actually brewed here in Hawaii.

Forager Honey Rye Ale





Light golden color with small white cap.

Aroma of sweet malt and dry rye bread.

Taste is more a sensation of sweetness rather than actual sweetness. There is a full richness to the malt flavor with a rye edge that seems both dry and spicy yet the overall effect is sweet. Brewer's website doesn't disclose any percentages of Rye or honey but both flavors are present. Hops play a small role here but the emphasis here is on honey and grain.

Medium full texture with balancing carbonation.

This is an interesting beer. It looks good, tastes good and provides something a bit different in the sea of IPAs that populate our retail shelves.

Drinking a home brewed Rye Plae Ale.

 

Good morning BAs! Little brother fed and off to Mass, time for something sinful - Hoppin’ Frog’s “Den Haag” BBA English-style Imperial Old Ale:



Best by date of Nov. 10, 2024. An IP trade in Columbus OH last year with a trading buddy (not a BA). Poured at 52°. Collision of old ale flavors with BB aging. Amazing!

This morning was in the 50s and forecast says we hit 80° this afternoon…springtime in WV, crazy, but I’ll take it - Cheers and have a great day y’all!

 

Boy, Heineken shit like this gets met crancky.


Brand used to be a nice Brewery before take over. And Amstel even in the Heineken days had very nice specials like the 1870 and the autumn Bock.
But Heineken does now only the Dutch specials through brand and basically it is kind of mediocre (and that is an euphinism).
But well, maybe something for you?

 

Very sorry to inform you, I had to give up my Lente-Bock contest on advice of my GP.
She said. life is too short to drink Dutch Spring Bocks. But then again, what does she know?
However having German, Irish, Scottisch roots, I have to conclude: Die bokke is nie vir my nie. It is more a Dutch/Heineken commercial product for people who did not develop any beer taste yet..

Sorry to hear about your Great Aunt's passing @DavyJonesXXX , but glad you will find some relief after all the time you spent lovingly caring for her.
