Brewers notes: Introduced in the 1890s, originally called El Sol. The logo and presentation has not been changed. Born in the heart of Mexico in 1899, Sol is a bright and refreshing lager.
It’s inspired by the sun and brewed to shine just like those who drink it. The ones that radiate good vibes, that lighten the mood and always look at life on the bright side. The ones who not only shine, but shine their way.

I think it is has changed , I think the beer tasted better 100+ years ago than this adjunct lager

Chilled 12oz can poured into a plastic cup , served poolside on a hot day, the only redeeming quality.

One finger bubbly white foam lid , quickly evaporates , settles to a golden liquid

Aroma is sweet corn , it’s an adjunct

Taste is sweet corn over malts

Low sudsing, pair it with spicy nachos or after pushing a lawnmower on a hot day

My wife accidentally knocked over my glass, let’s call it a mercy killing, I’ll switch to bottled water

    montezumas revenge indeed !

A very nice beer, yet another that I feel could use a tad more carbonation.

[IMG] Early beers because I have work tomorrow and they run thru me. Getting old. And I know saying that the older BAs will be in shock to know how old I actually am and have no room to complain LMAO.

Pours a clear, golden color; excellent carbonation density, fast and lively; thick, frothy head, white and lasting. Very nice nose; floral and tropical fruit notes; berries and musk melon; light honey element. Lightly sweet flavor; tropical fruit primarily; a modicum of hop bitterness; a light, zesty spicy undercurrent. Medium bodied; crisp with a prickly overtone; deft touch of residual sugar feel offset with a light dryness.

TRVE has their west coast style India pale ale game dialed in. I don't know how many offerings they've presented over the past two or three years (more actually, but they've been putting out a lot of new ones of late), but I've yet to encounter a dud. This particular offering is one of the best. It delivers across the sensory board, has great flavor and aroma, and drinks like a charm.

    1) Lupulin Dortmunder (5.5%): A European Export beer from Minnesota with flavors of earthy and grassy Noble hops, salty bread yeast, with a smooth bread dough flavor.
    versus
    2) Great Lakes’ Dortmunder Gold (5.8%): A European Export beer from Ohio that has strong bread malts, earthy honey, and light flowery flavors. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

    Winner:
    2) Great lakes' Dortmunder Gold:
Dortmunder Lager Battle, and a couple of my favorites. Haven't done this battle in a couple of years. First is Lupulin Dortmunder. Bready, rich, and smooth with some honey tones. Very good.
Next is Great Lakes Dortmunder. This beer puts flavors in lagers I didn't know were possible. Rich honeyflower flavors. Incredibly flavorful and smooth. It's one of my all-time favorites and I'd give it a World-Class rating.

4lb pork butt I cooked in the oven yesterday. Couldn't get more tender.
Stubbs hickory bourbon for the binder and used Kosmos Killer Bee for the rub.

I hear you Nicholas @nicholas2121 about Old Style and while I do like their latest version over the past few years over the saltier version pre-COVID, I do hold out hope one day they bring back the Fully Krausened version from the 1980s and 1990s, that they brought back for a few years in 2009. At least the moved production back to God's Country.

Perhaps should save this for Horns Up Friday, but can't wait that long. IYKYK

That looks great, came out real nice, a beauty! I've got a rack of ribs in the oven for dinner tonight, hope they come out half as good as your pork butt. Cheers!!

Thank you, I appreciate it! It did turn out nicely. Had that with mashed potatoes and oven roasted cauliflower/broccoli. Plenty of left overs for today.
I'd like to cook a chicken soon, your chickens always look on point. Iv never cooked ribs but it's also on my to do list. I didn't like ribs until I got some that were dynamite, was like ok I get the hype now. Cheers!
