I'll lay the facetiousness on thicker next go!

 

A great feeling in spring is turning on that fountain, and watching all the perennials pop up.

 

1) Phase Three P3 Pils (4.7%): An American Pilsner from Chicago with flavors of lemon citrus, floral notes. yeast. Clean and crisp.
versus
2) Summit Twin Pils (5.1%): A zwickel-style beer from Minnesota that is a newer version of the Keller Pils with flavors of pale malts, lemon, bread. Smooth. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

Winner:
2) Summit Twin Pils: Pilsner Battle. First is Phase Three. Listed as an American Pils, but I think it has enough hops in here to drink like a German Pils. Light floral notes. Clean and crisp.
Next is Summit Twin Pils. One of my favorites from Minnesota. Similar, but more bread and smooth lemon. Seems to have more full flavor and body.

At one of my favorite campgrounds…first, a beer - Burial’s “Careful Consideration of This Urge to Levitate”. DIPA that I just got at the brewery:



Motueka in the whirlpool and part of the DDH. Lots of lemon/lime in nose/on tongue. I liked this hazy on tap, so I got a 4pk to go…canned 3/25/24.

Next order of business is to scrounge some kindling for tonight’s fire…beautiful breezy cool afternoon…Cheers from Camden, NC!

19.2 oz from Paperback Brewing Glendale , CA canned on 04/02 . A WCIPA featuring mosaic hops , i really like it and the 6.5 ABV.

 

Especially after 5 inches of snow Saturday morning. Cheers to spring!

 

1) Hop Butcher Blazed Green Relish (8.0% canned 2/6/24): A NEIPA from Chicago with Citra, Strata, and Sabro for flavors of fresh orange, green papaya, and zesty citrus.
versus
2) Drekker Juiciler (8.0% canned 4/10/24): A NEIPA from North Dakota with Citra, Mosaic, and Sabro for flavors of orange creamsicle, coconut and pineapple cream, papaya, and hints of herbal notes. Smooth. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

Winner:
2) Drekker Juiciler: Sabro IPA Battle today. First is Hop Butcher Blazed Green Relish. It's green, smooth, mildly sweet. Nice showcase of Sabro. Nice and complex flavors, but they don't really pop.
Next is Drekker Juiciler. Has a stronger green coconut flavor and citrus. It seems like the flavor pop here more. Probably also as it is two months more fresh. Still, I think even when Blazed Green Relish was fresh, the flavors are complex, but never really popped. Usually a Hop Butcher fan, but in terms of the Sabro, Drekker Juiciler does it pretty darn good.

 

The wife's on a grilling tear, second night in a row. I think tonight is a few chicken breasts, I'll watch and rest ..... Coors Banquet
